Kaitlin & Bill had the recipe for a perfect wedding day! An outdoor wedding on a beautiful summer day (well… it was a HOT summer day but luckily by the time their ceremony came, it had cooled down!), a first look and all portraits before their ceremony so they could go straight to cocktail hour and enjoy the rest of their night, a dance floor that constantly had people dancing all night long, the cutest little ring bearers in the tiniest little converses, a FUN Bridal Party with the best energy all day long and more than two dozen cookies for favors and dessert. YUP. You read that right! lol
Kaitlin and Bill came from their home in Pittsburgh to get married in New Jersey, where Kaitlin grew up and her family still lives. But they brought with them from Pittsburgh one of the oldest wedding traditions (and one of the YUMMIEST!) – a cookie table! This was the first time we’ve ever seen anything like a cookie table and it was SO impressive. Their parents, grandmothers, aunts, cousins, EVERYONE pitched in and homemade all different assortments of cookies for their guests to enjoy and take home with them as the tastiest favors. There were FIVE tables FULL of cookies – SO many different types! We took home two boxes (because there were so many cookies made, some were still hiding under the tables!!) and I can tell you – each one of them was delicious. This is a tradition that really needs to be picked up everywhere! lol But the IDEA of the cookie table is amazing to me. Everyone LOVES these two enough to contribute to their wedding day like that. That is so special!
This was our 4th time shooting at the Battleground Country Club and it never gets old! We found the PERFECT spot for Kaitlin & Bill to share their first look in the shade. I’m so thankful to have clients like these two that care about their portraits! They knew with a first look they could take all the time in the world for their portraits and have enough time to enjoy each other’s company all day long! It was a HOT day out but these two were troopers, barely complaining about it. How could they? The heat didn’t matter to them, they were about to get married! And the sunlight may have been hot but it was the PERFECT glow. Seriously – they are glowing throughout their entire portraits! They were in such a great mood but I feel like the minute they became husband and wife and shared their first kiss, their smiles became even BIGGER and those huge smiles didn’t leave their faces the rest of the night! Kaitlin switched from her Manolo Blahniks into her Kate Spade Keds and these two didn’t stop dancing all night long. And you guys – these two KNOW how to dance! lol Bill is CRAZY on the dance floor and he is so fun to watch. I overheard his mom saying as she laughed and watched him dancing “I had NO IDEA he had it in him!” You can see it in their photos! It’s so fun to just watch these two together and I know they’re going to have the happiest marriage!
