It’s the most wonderful time of the year!! Christmas is only 3 days away and I thought now was the best time to share our Home at my favorite time of year. I LOVE decorating for Christmas and always have 🙂 More than anything, I’ve always loved sharing our home for the holidays! I try to invite friends and family over as much as we can (hence our annual holiday parties!) and really just enjoy the comfort and warmth of having that big, gorgeous Tree in our living room. I sprinkle a little Christmas magic into every room, if I can. (I know you love our Faux Taxidermy with the reindeer hat? He hangs out right above our TV!) Though I won’t go crazy showing you our entire apartment for Christmas, I do want to share some of my favorite parts of our house and hope you enjoy 🙂
This shelf in our Dining room is one of my favorite parts of the house – mostly because of that gold and white color scheme. I’m LOVING it and thinking we should try to do our whole house like this one year! (And I know you love bits of my owl collection! Yes bits… I have way more owls! )
Our tree is my favorite! It’s about 8 ft tall and is just so full and gorgeous. We typically have a lot of red on it, with a red skirt and tree topper, and this year did all gold wrapping to contract with the red. LOVE it! (And yup that’s Lando’s butt hanging out on the couch) My favorite part of the tree is of course all the ornaments we’ve collected over the years together. We purchase ornaments any time we travel some place new and then have ornaments of things that mean the world to us – like our dogs, Disney & the Mets 🙂
Every ornament is loved and cherished. Hallmark ornaments, Starbucks Ornaments, even handmade ones that were given to us as gifts – we love them all 🙂
There is nothing I love more than seeing our stockings full!! We wait until Christmas Eve to open our gifts so they remain stuffed right up until Christmas! Yup.. even our fur babies have their own stockings 🙂 And of course it isn’t Christmas unless we have a candy bowl full of our favorite chocolates!
Our first floor of our apartment has a nice open floor plan so of course I have to decorate the dining room and make sure it looks just as festive as the living room. Before our Christmas party the dining room had full table settings but now I just kept it simple 🙂 Love these simple trees I got for less than $3 at Target and Party City! And of course are bar cart got in on the action with festive straws, a fun print and is full of the good stuff 😉
Our console table holds things that mean a lot to me – like that snow globe gifted from family, the christmas card holder we made on Thanksgiving for our crafts this year and the needle point of the Santa’s my mom made for me and framed 🙂 It’s something I remember she started when I was VERY young than gifted to me in a frame a few years ago and now is something I will cherish forever. I love it so much! 🙂
My favorite part of our home at Christmas? Having these three babies to cuddle with and be thankful for every year. These poor guys… this is a tradition I’ve had ever since we got the dogs (and cat!) Its fun to document and see how they’ve grown, see the places we’ve lived and honestly – my photographs look better and better each year! I started these photos with a point and shoot 🙂 And yes they always wear their Christmas best! LOVE that this year they both looked at my camera. Oh and the cat? Well he’s king of the castle so it’s ok if he doesn’t look… I’ll still take his adorable little photo 🙂
Wishing you all a wonderful Holiday!! 🙂 I’ll be back next week wrapping up 2014 and looking back at what an amazing year it has been!
