I would imagine that it is NOT easy planning a wedding entirely overseas – but Melissa & Chris’ wedding day was absolutely gorgeous! Everything tied in together perfectly from their amazing florals to the chic W Hotel, where they got ready and had their reception, to all of Melissa’s gorgeous details. I mean… HER SHOES! Just wait until you see her Jimmy Choos!! 😉 Melissa and Chris clearly had a vision for what they wanted their wedding day to look like – stylish, elegant and fun. I’m glad to say it was all of those things! Melissa and Chris were the absolute best couple to work with, 100% chill the entire day. When we got hot and humid sun over the rain they had been calling for all week, even if a heavy tuxedo and wedding dress – ZERO complaints. How could they complain?? They were finally MARRIED! 🙂
My favorite part of the day was getting into the elevator with Melissa and her bridesmaid, Stacey, and seeing it suddenly hit Melissa. We were on our way to the church 20 minutes away, where she was going to finally see Chris for the first time and they were going to become husband and wife. After 10 years together, it was finally happening. The nerves hit her out of no where but the smile never left her face. As they saw each other for the first time as she walked with her father down the aisle, it was SO fun to see their faces just light up at the sight of each other. I stood right in front of Chris photographing Melissa walk down and I could suddenly hear him breathing louder and deeper… this was it! But turning to see his face and see that smile, it was just the sweetest sight 🙂 Before we knew it, they were announced husband and wife! Just like that! The champagne popped and we were finally heading back down to Hoboken for portraits and to get the party started! I PRAYED the entire time we were in the church that we would walk out to bright sunlight and that’s exactly what we had. By the time we got to Hoboken, it had turned into the perfect summer day! Bright sunlight & wonderful wind in the shade (JUST what these two needed) – I was so happy that everything that they had envisioned the entire time they planned their wedding had come together so flawlessly.
We had SO much time to take their portraits but man was it hot out! All I was focused on was photographing them as quickly as possible so we could get them inside to air conditioning and cold water. You’d never know looking at ALL the portraits of their gorgeous Bridal Party and them that we literally did it all in under an hour! It left us plenty of time to capture their cocktail and reception spaces before their guests arrived and wow – The W Hoboken is an impressive wedding venue! It is SO fun and modern, unlike anything else we’ve seen in all of New Jersey. If you’re looking for a unique venue – this is it! It was so fun watching the guests entire Lulu’s for the cocktail hour and just looking around in awe at the space around them. It was even more fun watching Melissa and Chris enter their reception space for the first time… she had told me months before of her vision for that space and it was EXACTLY what she had described! Candles everywhere, gorgeous white draping… just beautiful! The sweetest part was watching them together during their first dance. Yup, as usual – I cried! I just couldn’t contain my joy for them. It was such a wonderful wedding day and I was so happy for these two! Jose and I left their wedding FULL of energy – we were on such a high from their beautiful day and I am SO excited to finally be sharing their wedding photos with you!! Melissa and Chris, I hope you had a great time in Miami and a safe flight back home to England! We love you both, wish you endless years of happiness and love and hope you enjoy our favorites from your beautiful wedding day! 🙂
