There is nothing I love more than capturing an engagement session at the place that started it all for a couple! For Dina & Patrick, it was at their college campus at Rutgers University. Every day they’d walk along the same bridge to their class and that classroom was filled with 300 other students… yet they only noticed each other every day during that walk. Isn’t is funny how life just points you in the direction of who you’re supposed to be with without you even knowing it?? Eventually they got to talking and than hanging out together and now the rest is history! Come this October, they will become husband wife 🙂 Jose tagged along with me for this engagement session and we had SO much fun hearing all about how they met and just watching these two together. They’re so adorable! And if there were ANY nerves, we did not see them. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to take their photos! We had a blast with these two – especially because Patrick is one of the funniest guys we know and our stomachs were hurting us from laughing so much the whole time!
I’ve lived in New Jersey all my life and had never wen to the Rutgers Campus until now and WOW, what a campus it is! It’s filled with so much history and gorgeous, historical buildings that transport you to another time. In fact, the amazing scenery and quad is what influenced Dina & Patrick to choose their second outfits of their session and theme it around being a couple in love in the 1950s! Dina even brought along a purse that belonged to her Nana and it fit in perfectly with the theme… SO perfect! They looked so sharp in their outfits and I swear, taking their pictures with the dark building around them I felt like I was looking at a postcard. It was a pretty genius idea they had that worked perfectly in this location and I LOVED how it came out! I love how all these photos came out 🙂 Not only that but these two seriously lucked out on having the BEST weather for an engagement session in February! This is my second engagement session in February that ended up having 60 degree weather. What is happening!? I’m SO happy we didn’t have to worry about snow on the ground or having to take their coats off and have them freeze their butts off. It was PERFECT and made it ten times more enjoyable! I’m sure they were expecting it to be 20 degrees so it was a huge plus!
Their wedding day is this October and I’m SO excited for that day to come. It sounds like it’s going to be so beautiful. They’re taking their time picking out every gorgeous detail to ensure it is a beautiful day and I know it will be, I just know it. Not only that but it’s going to be a day that is personalized to show who they truly are as a couple and what they love together 🙂 Oh! And did I mention Patrick is one of my sister’s best friends?? So my sister will be in the wedding! Not only that but she is OFFICIATING it! I can’t wait for this wedding day! 🙂 But for now, let’s enjoy their adorable engagement photos at their college campus where they met and fell in love. Sigh… Dina and Patrick, we hope you LOVE your photos and we’re so excited for you both!! October will be here before we know it! Enjoy some of my favorite photos from their engagement session.
