For me, it is SO important to be organized and prepared in my business… ESPECIALLY when I’m on the go. There are so many times when I am not home sitting at my desk, whether it’s shooting a wedding or engagement session or meeting with potential clients or doing site visits with my couples. What I NEED is to know my business can be maintained and kept in order even when I’m on the go! In this aspect, I am so thankful for iPhones and all they can do. I am easily able to take care of everything I have to do with my iPhone. I will be honest and say I do NOT use my iPhone calendar. I’m an old fashioned girl who prefers pen and paper so I carry a tiny agenda with me for this but other than that, I can easily access all areas of my business on my iPhone! Today’s post is all about my favorite APPs I use on my phone specifically for my business! 🙂

1. MileIQ – HOW did I live without this APP, I’ll never know. I signed up to MileIQ early this year as an easier way to simply track my miles and it has been a lifesaver. I don’t have to write my miles down anymore each and every time I enter and exit my car. Sometimes I can’t believe I did that! With MileIQ, it has a built in GPS that tracks every single mile I drive, whether it’s in my car or not. It doesn’t matter what I do or who I’m with, it easily tracks every mile I make. The BEST thing about this APP is I can easily separate my business and personal miles.  I can also view it on the desktop, customize what each drive specifically was for and easily send it to my CPA at the end of the year for taxes! 🙂 There are different plans you can sign up to with MileIQ and you can try it out for FREE! So easy and highly recommended 🙂

2. Gmail – Can I be honest and tell you I’ve only been using the GMAIL app for 2 weeks and I am obsessed?? Obsessed. It’s hard to explain how a mail app has made my life so easy but it has. Now I don’t need to check my emails constantly on the go if I’m waiting for a client or bride to get back to me. It easily notify me when I’ve got ANY new business mail and has made my life ten times easier. I am not obsessively checking my emails anymore, which I admit I did do. This means I’m on the phone WAY LESS when I’m at home and can actually concentrate on the tasks at hand. I know how crazy I must sound but it’s true.

3. Facebook Pages – This app is specifically for running your page on Facebook and it’s so handy. I don’t post from the APP on my phone. I type up everything on my desktop and if I’m busy the day a photo has to go up I make sure to schedule it for the time I want it to go up. But the Facebook APP is great to have on my phone because if I notice a typo or if I want to respond to any comments on a post or share to my personal page, I can easily do that on this APP. It also shows me my reach which is SO great because it let’s me see all the people that are looking at my posts and which ones are more interesting to them than others. The analytic’s in this APP are great and Jose and I really go through and dissect it all easily thanks to this app.

4. Google DOCS – Google Docs is so important for me because this is what I use to send my wedding worksheets to all of my clients and with that information, create their timelines. When I meet with my clients 2 weeks before their wedding and we go through their timeline in person, if there are any adjustments that need to be made – I can do that right on my phone during our meeting. SO easy. Not only that but this is how Jose & I carry their timeline on the wedding day. The timeline is on our phone in Google Docs and we can easily open and access it at all times. We can also check the wedding worksheet if we have to go on the go, which is always a good thing, and if anyone asks me any questions about either one of their docs – I can access it easily 🙂 The only time I can’t is if I’m driving because that’s not safe! lol But other than that, I’m able to easily see it anywhere and anytime and I can always be in contact about the timeline with my Brides this way.
