Stu’s father said it best when he was giving his toast; it was a Destination Wedding for everyone but the Bride & Groom! Christine & Stu’s family came from all over the country to be with them on their wedding day and that really is a testament to this wonderful couple. Family as far as France traveled to Jersey City to celebrate their wedding day! There was nothing but excitement from everyone surrounding them and it was such a joy to capture their wedding day.
We woke up to a foggy, cold rainy Wedding Day and a little bummed out. Christine & Stu had envisioned their photos down at Liberty State Park to have their lovely city of Manhattan cheering them on… but with all that fog it didn’t look like it was going to happen. When I arrived at Christine’s hotel room, I remained hopeful! Fog can lift and the weather forecast said it wouldn’t rain the rest of the day. I said a quick prayer than got to work capturing their STUNNING details – seriously, SO MUCH GOLD!! And I love gold so that’s a good thing! I was in LOVE with it all! Meanwhile, Jose was with the guys dealing with a bit of a crisis! Two of the groomsmen were having SERIOUS wardrobe malfunctions and needed new pants and a missing jacket delivered QUICK! I said so many prayers to myself that morning! Praying the weather would lighten up, praying the guys would get to church on time FULLY DRESSED… and would you believe all of it came together perfectly!? I really have to say, with the tiny mishaps, it ended up being the perfect wedding day! The fog lifted and as we arrived at Liberty State Park with the Bridal Party we noticed something… we could see the Skyline!! And SUN was coming out! It was absolutely perfect and everyone was glowing!
Inside the Maritime Parc… the party was about to get started! Over 200 guests filled the Reception Room and cheered on the new Mr. & Mrs. Cubbon as they made their entrance to I BELIEVE IN A THING CALLED LOVE by The Darkness (a personal favorite of Jose’s and mine! We smiled so giddily at each other when the song started lol) Seriously, don’t know? Listen and BLAST IT! I am right now 😉 There were sweet toasts from their Best Man, Maid of Honor & both their fathers followed by TONS of dancing! Stu being serenaded by old friends singing Under Pressure while Christine and her girls sang Temperature! lol This is my second wedding capturing Temperature with these girls and it never gets old! What a PARTY! Than the cutting of the cakes… that’s right! Not one but TWO cakes! They cut their traditional wedding cake (red velvet. YUM!!) and than a Piece Montee Cake made by their family friend, the one and only Jacque Torres! That’s right… Mr. Chocolate himself! Just wait until you see this cake! Wait until you see it all! Every detail of this wedding was carefully crafted with love from the couple and all the friends & family involved. It was BEAUTIFUL! And wow, I think this is the longest wedding blog post yet!
Christine & Stu – I am SO happy for you both! Congratulations on your beautiful wedding and Jose and I wish you nothing but the best! Enjoy my favorite images from their wedding day 🙂
Christine’s sweet Grandfather, shown in these photos, sadly passed away almost a week after their wedding day. All he wanted was to see his beautiful Granddaughter be married before he left this earth and he got to do that. This blog post is dedicated to him. Rest in Peace John Dunn.
