It was a PERFECT summer day in August. Clear blue skies, not a cloud in sight… and it was the perfect day to get married. For Kristen and Anthony, it was all very bittersweet. Kristen had lost her mother to cancer before her beautiful wedding day arrived and though she wasn’t there, her presence was felt the entire day long. There were butterflies scattered throughout the entire wedding day by Kristen – from the butterfly her father her father carried as he walked her down the aisle to the candle surrounded by butterflies that burned up on the alter of their ceremony and throughout their reception… to the TWO real butterflies that flew past us on their wedding day! It was incredible and brought me to tears multiple times that day. Spirits were HIGH for these two – everyone was SO excited to celebrate them and their love and I am SO honored to have second shot this wedding with the amazing Mikkel Paige! So happy to share a few of my favorite images from Kristen & Anthony’s lovely wedding day this past August. Be sure to visit Mikkel’s blog to see her blog post!
I spent the morning with Anthony as he got ready with his parents and groomsmen. Loved his sweet cuff links and shiny, shiny shoes!!
Once Anthony and the guys left to head to the church, I met up with Mikkel and the girls – and the party was just getting started!
Loved the sweet reactions of Kristen’s bridesmaids seeing her in her beautiful wedding dress for the first time!
Three single stem orange and yellow roses made up Kristen’s bouquet with a sweet picture of her and her mother in front.
Kristen’s father was blown away by her bridal beauty… such a sweet moment!
Right after we took this photo below, as Kristen was looking out the window with a beautiful pose-able butterfly on her shoulder… a butterfly passed by the window. Her mother was definitely present that day!
We made our way to Manhattan College, where Kristen and Anthony both went to college – for their ceremony! What a STUNNING and bright chapel they had on their grounds!
Pronounced husband and wife – SELFIE TIME!!
They posed behind the “Senior Walk” at Manhattan College – only graduated seniors could cross over & they made sure everyone knew not to disrespect the senior walk! 🙂
What AMAZING light under those trees!!
Off to their reception at the gorgeous Hollow Brook Country Club!
So many favorites – and all that glow around them!! Mikkel and I were DYING over that light!
In we went to capture their sweet, do-it-yourself details at the Cocktail hour and Reception!
They made donations to Stand up to Cancer, in honor of Kristen’s mother.
Loved the simple and rustic centerpieces. Beautiful!
Little butterfly buttons reading “LOLA” for everyone to wear through the night and a picture of Kristen’s mother looked over their reception… loved these sweet details.
Reception time!! Loved all these fun entrances 😉
The sweetest dances and HILARIOUS toasts!
Loved their unique square cake, with that adorable silhouette cake topper!
Party time!!
What a BLAST! Thank you so much to Mikkel for having me along on their beautiful day 🙂
