They went through what seemed like a million hurdles to book me! First their original wedding date wasn’t working out so they had to change their date to a few weeks earlier and wanted to make sure I was free… luckily, I was ๐ Then we met and had the most fantastic client meeting (you know it is a great meeting when it lasts TWO HOURS!). ย Then they picked up and moved from New Jersey to Brookyln and got so sidetracked from the move that their wedding planning was put on hold and I ended up hearing from Yuli three months after our first meeting. I thought they were gone for good so you could imagine my surprise when I received an email from her, saying they still wanted to book me! AND I was still available?? I mean, if that isn’t fate then I don’t know what is. Yuli and Alex are such a fun and relaxed couple… they actually remind me a lot of Jose and I! We immediately bonded with them at our initial meeting over tattoos, craft beers, photography and even learning to dance Salsa. I knew we were going to have lots of fun with them at their Engagement Session. So imagine my surprise when they show up at the beautiful location they picked, The Cloisters, and Alex is straight NERVOUS. Not even nervous but more uninterested in even taking these Engagement Photos! I completely understand that because it is always a weird concept to wrap your head around and the guys are always more nervous about this then the girls are. I knew if we could just get him over that teeny tiny hump about having his picture taken and more about it being all about them and their love and us all just having fun, it would be fine! Well… about 10 minutes into the session Alex was pointing out a part of The Cloisters that would be really great to get photos in and I knew he was ok. Better than ok, they were AMAZING! Yuli is so gorgeous and such a natural in the front of the camera (at least that’s how she made it seem to me!), Alex might have felt uncomfortable in the beginning but he rocked this session and they worked that camera!! Just wait until you see these two. They are one GORGEOUSย couple!ย It made me even more excited to see them all dressed up for their wedding next August and now I can’t wait for their wedding day to be here so we can hang out again ๐
Yuli and Alex… seriously. Thank you for making this job of mine SO EASY and for having so much fun with Jose and I. I had a blast shooting your session and can’t wait to share these photos with you! Can’t wait until your wedding next August – it is going to be one hell of a party!! ๐
LOVE this one! (below) and to think this is when Alex was still kind of nervous!
The architecture inside The Cloisters is just breathtaking and makes for such a STUNNING backdrop!
I asked Alex to make Yuli laugh for me ๐ I think he did a great job!
Seriously… WHAT MODELS!
Beautiful, beautiful, BEAUTIFUL!!
We walked all over and around the grounds of The Cloisters and it was the PERFECT September day for their session!
Alex is into Extreme Sports so a ring shot on his skateboard wheel seemed like the right thing to do ๐
We than moved their session to the Conservatory Gardens in Central Park. I’ve never been there and was SO excited to shoot their. A beautiful gem in that busy city.
Alex you are one lucky guy… you grabbed you aย beautifulย girl!
It was Alex’s idea to pick a flower (Ssh you’re not supposed to) from the Gardens and give it to Yuli ๐ so cute!!
Those eyes!! Yuli is going to make a breathtaking bride!
They are such good kissers, aren’t they?? ๐
This is a new favorite photo of all time for me! I LOVE this shot… and am TOTALLY ordering it on a canvas for my office! ๐
And another favorite to end this beautiful blog post ๐
You know you love these photos too! Be sure to leave Alex & Yuli some love in the comments below! ๐
