Let me tell you the incredible (short) story of how Keith made the night he proposed to Jackie a night she would never forget. While he was preparing to propose, setting all his little surprises up around Manhattan… she was preparing for dinner guests over at their adorable apartment in Hoboken, New Jersey. Finally, Keith came home and their friends had suddenly ALL bailed on them. Jackie was bummed and lost all enthusiasm to do ANYTHING that night. Keith was persistent and got her out of the house. Let’s make it a night out! Just the two of us! So they did!
It was a snowy winter day and they decided to go ice skating in Bryant Park! With his friend cleverly hiding & ducking behind all the ice skaters with a camera ready to capture the moment, Keith & Jackie swirled around the ice skating ring. Then, he got down on one knee ON THE ICE (so impressive) and proposed. Of course she said yes! They quickly got off the ice and ducked inside for celebratory champagne and drinks! But the surprises weren’t over… they were staying the night in a beautiful hotel in Manhattan AND enjoying their night at the Metropolitan Opera! This was something on their “NYC bucket list” and Keith went all out. But… what would Jackie wear?? No problem there! Keith knew Jackie loved Rent the Runway so he called customer service, explained to them he needed 3 or 4 dresses his fiancรฉ has viewed and favorited. He rented them all so she could choose which dress she wanted for the night! And off to the opera they went!
You guys… at their client meeting, my jaw could not have dropped more & more as he went on telling me all about his perfect proposal! This is by far the most beautiful and thoughtful proposal I’ve ever heard of. Bryant Park meant SO much to them and so it was a no brainer their Engagement Session would be there! New York Engagement sessions are my absolute favorite (and something I never feel like I can get enough of) so I was OVER THE MOON to be shooting here! These two are so up for anything and I couldn’t believe how much we did within an hour and a half of our time.
Jackie and Keith, thank you for such a fun and amazing engagement session!! I hope you LOVE your photos. I can’t wait to celebrate your wedding day in August in Hoboken! It’s going to be amazing!! ๐
Then they said “Let’s get some pics of us on the carousel” and I died…
Love this shot of Keith & his genuine laughing ๐
Engagement photos in New York City SHOULD be in black and white.
These two made my job so easy because they love to KISS! How sweet are they?
When 6th avenue is closed down because there is a street fair… you take advantage of that and get in the middle of the street!! I could NOT believe this happened!!
AHHH!!
Jackie, here’s a lovely photo of your husband-to-be for you to frame at your desk at work ๐
We planned to shoot inside the New York Public Library but it was closed for a wedding… got to love New York and it’s unpredictability!
The steps and outside of the New York Public Library was just as beautiful!
Jose LOVES close ups and shot the one on the bottom right… and I love it! Such genuine emotion ๐
UGH! They are SO romantic!!
Seriously… they were the BEST!! Dancing in the middle of the street!
CLASSIC!
Inside Grand Central we went… iconic New York!
We were able to catch the last of the sunlight beaming in through those windows…
Keith had the idea of them standing on this bridge. Keith had confessed he did some “research” ahead of time of places and how to pose. No wonder he was such a natural all day long!
LOVE!
We found this room that was roped off away from the travelers and tourists. So of COURSE they went in! Love them ๐
And we finished off the session and our night with some ice cream ๐
YAY!! Can’t wait for their wedding day! Be sure to leave Jackie & Keith some love in the comments below ๐
