Three years ago Jose & I got married. Three years ago, we let our budget for our wedding take over our hearts desires and “settled” for a photographer within our price range. That is my single biggest regret from our wedding day and I wish I could turn back time and go with the photographer I truly wanted. But we can’t change the past and that’s okay. So I started thinking maybe the only thing I can do now to make me feel better is a photo session with a photographer I love that I KNOW will produce fabulous images and NOT care about the money this time. Letting a price stop me from having good photos is meaningless now. When I reached out to Abby Grace Photography, I was SO happy to hear she was up for taking our pictures and IN NEW YORK! We were so nervous about this session beforehand. Sure we are good behind the camera but in front of it? It’s still nerve wracking! Turns out it wasn’t, we immediately felt at ease and comfortable and we had a BLAST with Abby!

Everything we planned for that day was foiled by rain but Abby & I came up with a backup plan earlier that morning and it worked out wonderfully! We shot our first set of photos inside the New York Public Library, which is breathtaking! We than made our way outside into the middle of Times Square, the spot where we had our fist official date 9 years year ago. It was a wonderful day and these are pictures I will cherish forever! Thank you Abby for these wonderful memories!! 🙂

Why do a photo session on our third Anniversary? Such a random year… Never! Every year is worth celebrating 🙂

The ring on my finger is one I wore on our wedding day 🙂

It was so fun being in the middle of Times Square taking these photos… in the most populated spot of New York, I still felt like it was just us there.

    Hello,

At the risk of sounding like a stalker or something, I remember you from your blog a long time ago. Sequins and plaids or something like that! I remember you starting up your own photography business and after a quick search I ended up finding your blog here! I feel like I am trying to find myself career wise. I am a graphic designer, but I am still trying to find my true calling career wise. I recently shot my cousins wedding. It was incredibly nerve wrecking for a newbie. I just wanted to know if you could give me some advice as to how you dove into the wedding photography world. I’m not sure it’s what I want to do, but I am interested exploring that idea. I like photography and it’s always fun to do, but I felt lost at shooting my first wedding. It was my brother and I, and I think we were a good team and pulled it off. I haven’t had a chance to look through my photos just yet. 🙂

Thank you in advance for any wise words! 🙂

Oh and P.S I loved this shoot. You too looked fantastic. 🙂 I live in the chicago land area, and doing a similar shoot here sounds like a great idea for my anniversary. 🙂
