One of my favorite parts of a wedding day is the getting ready portion! It’s the very beginning of the day, the excitement is in the air and just hanging with the Bride & her Bridesmaids is SO fun! More and more Brides are choosing to have their Bridal Party wear getting ready outfits for the beginning of the day and I love that decision! We are always snapping away candids and if the Bridesmaids don’t have to get dressed for a while, it’s a great way to have everyone looking cohesive and put together without being in their dresses for too long!

Before when you originally thought of Brides and Bridesmaids getting ready photos, you immediately thought ROBES! Robes definitely are cute but there are SO many other options too! Especially for fall and winter wedding days when a robe might not be the warmest decision. Luckily, SO many of my Brides are really creative and have thought of so many different ways to have comfy getting ready outfits that I thought it’d be a fun post to put together for inspiration for all my Brides getting married this year and next year who may not have thought of this yet! 🙂

My biggest tip is no matter what you choose, whether it’s a robe or shirts or jumpers, is that you keep the outfit somehow consistent with your wedding day! 🙂 If they are wearing purple dresses, make sure their getting ready outfits be purple! If you’re having a fall wedding day, have your girls wear plaid shirts!

Also, one other thing to think about – if your girls are wearing a matching shirt, make sure their bottoms match too! Make sure all the girls wear all black leggings or all blue leggings or jeans (This could just be me, though. My OCD goes NUTS when I photograph girls in matching shirts and all but one girl are wearing black leggings lol) but somehow, make sure all the bottoms match too! It’s something you don’t think about when you just buy a top for your girls and then on the day of your wedding, everyone’s bottoms are all over the place and NOT matching. I’ve even seen girls wear the same flip flops or slippers and that just looked ADORABLE! 🙂

If you don’t like to wear robes, don’t! If you want to wear sweatpants and a t-shirt, do it! But that little matching element would look so cute in photos. Make sure it’s super comfortable and easy to take off, especially so you don’t ruin your hair and makeup. Just remember no matter what you chose to be true to what YOU like and are comfy in 🙂
