3 days before their big day, it was clear that the weather was not going to change and Jordan & Chris would have rain on their wedding day. Not just a little sprinkling but a LOT of rain. I texted Jordan to let her know we would come prepared, with smiles on our faces and just deal with it the best we can. As photographers, if there is a chance on rain on a wedding day – we enter the day with a good attitude, knowing no matter what we will get what our Bride and Groom need. What makes the day even more enjoyable is when our Bride and Groom just know that this is something that can’t be controlled and to just go with the flow! Jordan &  Chris were SO unbelievably happy that their wedding day was here, not even the rain could derail them from that excitement! It’s funny because everything just seemed to work out perfectly for them – they got married and the cutest little church with the PERFECT porch big enough to hold their bridal party AND the perfect space for the portraits of just the two of them. We had barely any sunlight left (plus it was dark and stormy all day) and somehow, their portraits came together beautifully!

The excitement in the air was contagious. EVERYONE was so pumped up that Jordan & Chris’ day was here. If I had to give an award to the most excited people of the day, besides our gorgeous couple, it would be their adorable flower girls. These girls were SO giddy! You had to see them as they were getting dressed. They could not stop jumping up and down and giggling… they got to play dress up, walk down the aisle with their bouquets and be the stars of the show! And they little ring boys?? Oh my goodness… they killed me with their cuteness! So tiny but so well-behaved and just the cutest little boys EVER!! Even Jordan & Chris’ students were able to make it to their ceremony and watching Jordan’s fourth grade students REACT to the ceremony and their first kiss was so much fun. These kids LOVED being apart of Ms. Henshaw’s wedding day and loved seeing her become a Mrs.! It was the cutest thing ever. Even their sweet rescue dog, Oklahoma, was SO excited! Normally a shy dog, he warmed right up to Jose when he went to Chris and Jordan’s house and would not stop posing for his camera. I mean… the photos of Oklahoma watching Chris getting ready just MELT my heart. What a cutie!! SO much joy from every single person, and animal, that was there to celebrate these two 😉

I have to give so much credit to Jordan and Chris. They got engaged this past summer and were able to plan their wedding in just 4 months!! And not only that but they were calm and cool the entire time, never ONCE were stressed about the entire process. Not only not stressed but not even nervous. This was one thing they were sure of. It’s like my favorite quote from When Harry Met Sally… “When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible!” And since they’re both teachers, they figured it’d be best to just plan the wedding right in the beginning of their school year so they could enjoy the rest as a Mr. & Mrs. 🙂 Once Jordan got dressed in her childhood bedroom, I asked her if Chris was an emotional guy and if we were expecting him to cry at the sight of her and she said “No way!” So believe me… I was SHOCKED when I turned to capture his reaction and saw him completely moved to tears at the sight of his new Bride! It was such a sweet reaction and even took Jordan by surprise 🙂 So so sweet! It might have been a rainy wedding day but it was absolutely wonderful! We had the best time photographing and celebrating these two and I’m so excited to share our favorite images from their wedding day! Jordan and Chris – we are SO happy for you both and wish you nothing but the best in your years to come as husband and wife!! 🙂
