From the moment I met with Lisha & Andrew, they pretty much knew where they wanted their engagement session to be. Brooklyn Bridge Park was the winner from the beginning. The views of Manhattan, the chill vibe of the city right by the water… everything about it was appealing! When they decided on shooting their session first thing in the morning, it made it even better! New York City is crowded, no matter what bureau you’re in! But in the mornings it’s just a little bit quieter and seriously IDEAL for engagement sessions. What’s funny is how many other photo shoots we ran into while we were there! It was 9:00 in the morning and everyone had the same idea as us – another engagement session, a family shoot, even a few fashion editorial photo shoots were going on! But it’s amazing how I look at these photos and practically don’t even notice ANYONE else in the background! I was so happy we got to shoot Andrew & Lisha in a place they love so much and make it look like it was all theirs!
I DARE you not to scroll through Lisha & Andrew’s engagement photos without cracking a smile. Seriously! It was nearly impossible for me to do. We had so much fun during their session! These two clearly have so much fun together, living life with nothing but the biggest smiles on their faces and it is so obvious. I absolutely LOVE this session! I love the sense of humor they share together (just check out their signs they made from scratch and tell me they are not AWESOME!). Not only that but they let their nerd flag wave like crazy during this session. WHOO! I am a self-professed nerd in my own little ways… you know, geeking out HARD over anything Harry Potter, Star Wars, Batman, Disney and anything else I happen to love! So I truly LOVE when my couples bring along their passions to their engagement session and share it with everyone else. Not only do these two love to read books but COMIC books too! SO fun! Honestly I haven’t read many comic books (of course the only ones I remember reading are Batman comics lol) but I appreciate it and LOVE everything that has spawned from comic books so this was a lot of fun to photograph!
This session made me so excited for their wedding day – which is only 7 months away! These two are down for anything and just had the best time loving on each other during our session. They have great smiles and giggles that only the other can bring out in them, they are SO great in front of the camera and they are up for anything! When we just happened to walk by this AWESOME water fountain installation in the park, I casually mentioned if they were up for taking photos in the middle of the fountain we should make it happen – and they were! We made sure to save it for last just in case they happened to get wet, which they did, but man it was so worth it and it shows off what a great time they have together 🙂 I truly think the key to everlasting love is having a great sense of humor and not taking things too seriously so I think these two will be just fine together 🙂 SO excited to share this beautiful Brooklyn engagement session today and counting down the days until next May! Also, a very special thanks to their sweet friend Lindsay for tagging along with some yummy donuts and helping them hold all their clothes and props! You were a lifesaver!! 🙂 Andrew and Lisha (NOT Leesha – geez!) – I love you both and hope you LOVE your photos!! Can’t wait for next May and doing brunch together! (Andrew, I won’t judge you for ordering a hamburger at brunch! lol)
