I’ve been anticipating this engagement session from the second I met with Amanda and Lucas! We immediately hit it off – in fact we ran OVER our time on Zoom and jumped right back on a call and overall ended up chatting for almost two hours! lol And it was like that all over again when I met them in person – we chatted the entire time during their engagement session and after until the sunset! We talked all about their wedding plans, and their amazing month-long trip they took over the summer to Italy and just got to know each other even more – all while walking around the beautiful Sayen Gardens on a lovely spring night 🙂
Amanda and Lucas have been together for 6 years. In fact, the night we took their photos was their exact anniversary so thank you weather gods for letting that happen! It was a beautiful night and such a fun way to spend your anniversary together, don’t you think? These two love to laugh and have fun together but I also love how sentimental they are. The shoes Amanda wore are her wedding shoes and what better way to break them in but also, tie in your wedding colors! Amanda lost her mother a few years ago and though it’s been hard planning a wedding without her, she decided to include her throughout all the small details in their wedding planning and that is through her handwriting. She hired a local woodworker/calligrapher to completely duplicate her mom’s handwriting so she could use it throughout their details and one fantastic way she used it in their engagement session is on her jean jacket. Her name on the back of the jacket and the date on the sleeve are in her mom’s handwriting and it’s the perfect nod to a love one that has passed, especially one as special as mom.
I can go on and on about what a fabulous night we had and what a fun, amazing couple they are together but I will let the photos speak for themselves – and guarantee you’ll be smiling along with them by the end of this blog post! Enjoy my favorites 🙂
