Christmas is upon us but before that is Thanksgiving. I absolutely LOVE Thanksgiving day and I’ve realized it holds more traditions for us than Christmas day does. Our thanksgiving day starts bright and early, at 9AM. For as long as I could remember, we’ve gotten up to all sit in the living room together (my mom, dad, sister & I) to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade together and eat biscuits. Even now that we don’t live there Jose and I are going in our PJS to my moms (even our dogs are wearing their pjs!) and enjoying this tradition 🙂 This is our polaroid from last year. How cute is my adorable little family?? lol
Then after that we have Thanksgiving with my family at my sisters house. We usually pick a random Christmas movie and watch it while we wait for dinner to be ready then we eat a huge, tasty thanksgiving dinner with Christmas music playing in the background. After dinner, it’s desserts and Christmas crafts! It’s a simple tradition we have been doing for YEARS and it’s so fun to pull them out year after year and see everything we’ve made from ornaments to wreaths!
Then after that Jose and I head to spend the rest of our Thanksgiving day with his family, with lots more delicious food and plenty of alcohol followed usually by a couple rounds of a crazy fun board game. It is so fun and though I usually need 2 cups of coffee to keep me awake to last the entire day – it is just so fun to be able to spend it with our families year after year and hold up such wonderful traditions that I look forward to 🙂 and of course seeing Jose’s Aunt and Uncle’s dog – Joby! We have a special bond 🙂
This year… I’m thankful for so much. I’m thankful for traditions. For our family and their health. For supportive friends. For my amazing husband and our dear pets. And of course, for my amazing clients! Life is richer with you in it, letting me do what I love and share it with you 🙂
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Have a safe, happy & healthy holiday! Enjoy your company, your meals and everything you’re thankful for 🙂
