I have ALWAYS loved Halloween and celebrating this fun little holiday. Since Jose & I have been together (um that’s 6 years!) we’ve always done something for Halloween and got into the spirit. With this Halloween only a few days away, I thought it’d be fun to take a look back at the fun ways we’ve celebrated Halloween together! For 5 years we hosted Halloween parties that were SO fun & we’ve enjoyed carving plenty of pumpkins as well. We really get into the spirit. The photo above is from 2007!! WOW!! It was our first Halloween party and it was a total success! I was a scarecrow (Yes – to be honest, I never care what I actually dress up as for Halloween. I just pick something and go with it!) & Jose was Jack Sparrow!
At our next Halloween party I dressed up as the “mad hatter” from Alice in Wonderland & Jose dressed up as a Vampire from LOST BOYS! [from the classic 1987 vampire movie!) He went all out buying crazy looking contacts and I did his facial makeup that made him look more like a vampire from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It was a GREAT costume! lol
In 2009 we decided not to have a Halloween party but we did end up going out for the night in NYC with some friends – I bought a random witch costume while Jose decided to go as Edward Cullen from Twilight. lol the best part about his costume was seeing his face completely shaved [something he’s done only twice!] and his ridiculous wig.
For our next Halloween party in 2010, I pulled out the same witch costume from the past Halloween [I told you I really don’t care about my costume! lol] and Jose… well to be honest, I have no idea what he went as. He just wore an afro, his vampire contacts again and did some random thing. No idea if he even knows what he was!
At our last Halloween party in 2011 it was held on the day we had that FREAK snow storm here in the east coast in October. It was terrible! Fortunately, we have the BEST friends and family who made the trek in the snow in their costumes and the party went on! I dressed up as Wednesday Adams & Jose went as Super Mario! We both just bought clothes from Sears & Forever 21 and made it work at the last minute!
Last year we didn’t hold a Halloween party but did make sure to go pumpkin picking and host a pumpkin carving night 🙂 And that’s how we’ve spent our last few Halloweens’ and I’m so excited to celebrate this year again! We are carving some pumpkins this weekend, watching scary movies with friends & for the first time EVER – ATTENDING a Halloween Party! I’m so excited to NOT be hosting a party for once 🙂 Can’t wait to see what random stupid costume I’ll pick this year.
Do you love Halloween as much as me?? What was your favorite costume ever? 🙂 Tell me in the comments below! I’d love to hear.
