From the minute I met Jennifer and her mother on a cold winter day in January, I fell in love with them both! I instantly became so excited over their wedding day and after chatting for 2 hours in Panera Bread, it was obvious to the both of us I was meant to be their wedding photographer! We quickly planned their engagement session for the next weekend and prayed it was warm enough to shoot on the beach in Spring Lake – and it was close to 60 degrees that day! And then that’s where I fell in love with Jennifer AND Kody! They are not only two of the kindest and sweetest but the most easy going people I ever met – they were prepared for the cold and even snow if it happened! But everything always seems to work exactly in their favor 🙂 It did for their engagement session and it was exactly that on their wedding day! When you think a wedding in August – you think, it’s going to be HOT! And at some parts of the day, it was. But it was never excruciating! And when it was the hottest during the day, there was a perfect break in between all the festivities to head back to their home and freshen up. It’s exactly what they did! To the point where Jennifer had even taken off her gown and changed into a comfy shirt and shorts so she wouldn’t sweat away in her gorgeous gown 🙂 THAT’S how easy going they are! The best vibes all day long. Even when we stole them out of their reception for sunset shots and I had taken enough (I never want to steal my couple away for too long!) they wanted to take even MORE photos – and there’s no such thing as too many photos of a Bride and Groom on their wedding day so I just loved that!! 🙂

Spring Lake is a gorgeous beach town and I feel like this wedding was an owed to the city they have grown to love over the years! They both got ready in houses right next door to each other (how cute is that!?) and became husband and wife at the stunning St. Catherine’s church right in town by the lake. That church was PACKED with people and it was so exciting to watch them become husband and wife, with so many people wiping away their tears of happiness in the pews. And their portraits? We went EVERYWHERE! The lake, the beach, the trolley (you guys – they had a trolley!), the center of town – we hit up every great spot of Spring Lake and it was so worth it! And the Bridal Party never complained once! In fact, they kept coming up with cute poses for them! It was adorable lol. My favorite was watching Jennifer run to the rocks on the beach for portraits ahead of all of us – that sand was HOT and it was a long walk so it only made sense to run! She made it look so easy running on the beach in her wedding dress! lol And we had a lovely guest join us for family portraits outside the church – KEVIN! Kevin is her brother’s adorable 7 month old puppy. YES – he is a PUPPY. He was so hyper and rambunctious, I’m SHOCKED we got not one, not two but THREE photos of him looking at our cameras! lol He pulled up the church right after the ceremony was over and everyone screamed “KEVIN!!” – he was the hit of the day! lol

Once we arrived at Spring Lake Golf Club, it was time to party! But before that came all the amazing toasts and man, these were great toasts! Jennifer had two maids of honor, Kody had two best men and BOTH groups knocked it out of the park. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a room erupt in so much laughter over toasts! Plus – the sweet toast and blessing made by Jennifer’s brother and father. Her brother had everyone in tears from his sweet blessing, her father had everyone in tears from his hysterical toast. It was SO great! SO many fantastic moments throughout the day – it’s so hard to pick just a few to talk about in their blog post! All I know is I had the biggest smile on my face when I walked out of their reception and my heart ached that it was all over! I’m sure you’ll pick your own favorite moments just LOOKING through these photos! 🙂

Jennifer & Kody – CONGRATULATIONS!! We are so happy for you both!! Thanks to you and your families for making US feel like we were a part of the family all day long! You deserve nothing but the best!! Many years of love and happiness to you both 🙂
