If there’s one thing Philadelphia knows how to do, it’s set a scene—and for Kate and Blaine, the city has been the backdrop to every good chapter of their love story. We kicked off their engagement session on the rooftop of Kate’s apartment. The same place Blaine asked her to marry him this past summer, and as we stepped onto the familiar rooftop, this simple little rooftop felt like the most romantic spot in all of the city..

From there, we wandered through the city streets—classic Philly brick backdrops, soft pockets of light, and that unmistakable blend of romance and urban charm. Kate & Blaine have this effortless, magnetic energy together that makes photographing them feel like documenting two best friends who just happen to be completely in love.

Our final stop was the Raquet Club of Philadelphia—their home turf in more ways than one. This is where they met, where they had their very first date and are still members of. Inside the club, the warm wood tones and historic details created the perfect setting. We photographed them in the lounges where their early conversations unfolded, in the hallways where those shy glances first sparked, and near the courts that unintentionally kickstarted their whole story. Returning here as an engaged couple gave every image a beautiful full-circle feeling.

From that meaningful rooftop to the iconic Raquet Club, Philadelphia holds their love story from start to finish— they will tie the knot in the city of brotherly love next summer, and I can’t wait to photograph that special moment for them too! Their engagement session was a reminder that the best photos aren’t just about pretty backdrops. They’re about the places where people fall in love, the memories tucked into corners of a city, and two hearts who choose each other over and over again.
