I can’t remember the last time I was in Philadelphia! I think it was 8 years ago?? So when Melissa and Jack asked if I’d be willing to go to Philadelphia for their engagement session, I didn’t hesitate to say yes! I LOVE working in new places – it forces me to be creative and step out of my comfort zone and there’s nothing better 🙂 Melissa and Jack live in New York City and are getting married in New Jersey but they met and fell in love in Philadelphia, when they both were attending Villanova. It’s a special place to them and only a short drive from where they live now so why not go to to Philly for photos? And they were the best tour guides!
They had told me they were interested in doing their photos in Old City, Philadelphia. It was a section I had always wanted to visit but never have – admittedly I was nervous I wouldn’t know where to go but they made it easy for me and brought us around to all their favorite stops in Philly! I not only got an American history lesson but a history lesson through their relationship! We took photos by Independent Hall, the second bank of America, old gorgeous brownstones on cobblestone streets while also pausing to take photos in front of the movie theatre they used to go to together and parks they used to enjoy on the weekend. It was such a FUN evening walking around Philadelphia with these two and now I feel confident in being a tour guide next time I travel back to Old City thanks to them! 🙂 I’m also counting down the days until I can see them again – this time on their wedding day!! For now, enjoy my favorites from their engagement session 🙂
