It was SO fun meeting and photographing Jessica and Thomas and not every day I get to kick off an engagement session on top of a MOUNTAIN! lol I first met these two over zoom one day in June and we chatted and chatted for so long that Zoom kicked us off the call! lol I had so much fun getting to know them and hearing all about their wedding plans and couldn’t wait to finally meet them in person! We immediately scheduled their engagement session for the fall at the top of Bear Mountain. They loved fall and foliage but this location also meant a lot to them. It’s where they went for their first date, as well as many other dates 🙂 By the way, what an incredible location to have a first date at, right?? We arrived on a beautiful fall at the top of Bear Mountain and as expected, lots of other people were there too! You’d NEVER know that though because not only did we keep them out of the background for photos but if these two were nervous about a ton of people watching them take photos, it did not show! It was like they just locked eyes, held hands and that’s all they needed to feel at ease!

We made our way down the mountain to Hessian Lake for photos with the mountains ABOVE us now and it’s so wild to see how different this perspective is! We met up the first weekend of November and it was peak foliage and SO beautiful as the backdrop of their photos! And when we resumed photos by the lake, it was like Jessica and Tom got even MORE comfortable with photos and that’s when their personalities really shined through photos! They just naturally started posing each other! I LOVED IT!! They apologized for being so goofy together but no way did I accept that apology! BE goofy together! That’s the point of the engagement session – to let your love shine through photos! I think they NAILED it and I can NOT wait to photograph them on their wedding day next year. It’s going to be a BLAST!!! For now, enjoy my favorites from their engagement session 🙂
