Maggie and Matthew are married and I felt so much excitement going into their wedding day! I first spoke with Maggie and Matt last April when they reached out to me about photographing their wedding. They blew me away when they mentioned that I photographed her cousin’s wedding almost 8 years ago and loved my style and photos from that wedding! I was honored they thought of me and once I got to know them over a zoom chat, I instantly loved their story and their vibe. These two just INSTANTLY make you feel like you’ve known them forever. They are so kind, so fun, so personable. I just instantly clicked and knew we’d be the best match for their wedding photos! Their engagement session around their favorite spots in New York City sealed the deal for me. Not only were they so adorable together in photos but I could have walked around Manhattan talking with them all day long! I went into their wedding day so excited to not only see them get married but just hang out with them for the day!! 🙂
The weather cooperated and gave us BEAUTIFUL July weather! The excitement was in the air when I showed up at the hotel. NO nerves were present, just excitement! After photographing Maggie’s gorgeous details, her bridesmaids and mom helped her get into the dress that was just meant for her. It was beautiful and even more exciting heading to the church knowing Matt was about to see her walk down the aisle in it. They chose to get married at Fordham University, the school they are both alumni of. The church was overwhelmingly beautiful. It was a long walk as Maggie walked down the aisle toward Matt but well worth it. I watched his face in his camera as he took deep breaths, watching her with a smile and a few tears the entire time. Then looked back at Maggie to see the same – her beaming smile with tears in her eyes. It’s honestly such an honor to witness moments like this up close. To see two people who are just SO happy to be together finally see each other on their wedding day. It’s the best! Despite it being a beautiful full mass, the ceremony flew by and before we knew it they were exiting the church to cheers and applause from their friends and family! We walked around the gorgeous campus of Fordham for a few photos before making our way to their venue, Davenport Mansion, for the remainder of the portraits and I honestly don’t know which location I love more! Both backdrops were so beautiful and with the perfect weather we had, I’m so glad Maggie and Matthew got to have the wedding photos they dreamed of!
Once the photos were done, it was time to start the party, and my gosh what a FUN party it was!! Their first dance was PERFECTLY them – lots of twirls and spins, singing to each other and smiles. I teared up just watching them dance together! Their parent dances and toasts were just as sweet and emotional! And when it was time to open the dance floor, did that dance floor open up!! It was like everyone I was hanging out with all day that was sweet and chill and relaxed just let loose! lol, I LOVED it! It made for some fantastic photos and such a fun reception!! We had the BEST time and I just couldn’t believe how quickly it all went! I’m SO excited to share my favorite images with you all today!! Maggie and Matthew – CONGRATULATIONS!! What a beautiful wedding day for two people SO deserving! I wish you nothing but the best in your marriage!!! 🙂
