Allison & Matt’s wedding day was the exact opposite from what they had originally planned. They planned to have a Saturday wedding in April 2020 but ended up having a Thursday wedding in June a whole year later. They went through a really hard 2020 and it definitely jolted their wedding plans, bringing the celebration to be a little smaller than they originally planned. But in the end, they knew they wanted to get married and celebrate their love with family and friends. And luckily, an angel was on their side for perfect weather and a perfectly smooth wedding day 🙂
One thing NEVER changed – Allison & Matt were married in the same church that Allison’s parents were married at almost 35 years ago! It was such a sweet ceremony in such a special place and the outside was just beautiful. I could have stayed there all day photographing them. My favorite FAVORITE part of the day was the two of them hugging in the middle of their portraits and saying “we waited a long time for this”… moments later as Allison looked into my camera with a smile on her face, I could see tears welling up in her eyes. This moment meant SO MUCH to them and they FINALLY got to have it. It melted my heart.
They ended up getting married on a Thursday because what they really loved at Stone House at Stirling Ridge is the gorgeous new Lodge and they just didn’t want to take away from that vision they had for their day – and I am SO glad they didn’t! It was so beautiful! Matt and his family are from Texas so they had the most delicious bbq at cocktail hour and guests found their tables with their table numbers on glasses of champagne! (that’s my kind of table card!) They shared their first dance with their guests and bridal party surrounding the dance floor, enjoyed the fire pit outside because it was a GORGEOUS night, sipping their signature cocktails all night. Allison & Matt are currently on a honeymoon at the place that started it all – where they spent their first anniversary together and in 2018 when he proposed to her, these two are such romantics and know how to make every moment count! But I am SO excited to share my favorite images from their wedding day with you all!! Allison & Matt, I am SO incredibly happy for you two and hope you’re having an amazing honeymoon! Thank you for letting me be a part of your beautiful wedding day!!
