I showed up to Kate’s parent’s house and electricity was in the air! All the ladies were back from the salon with their hair and makeup beautifully done, the light was shining through each room in the house, Taylor Swift was blasting – I instantly knew it was going to be a fun day 😉 And it was! The girls popped champagne and Kate slipped into her wedding dress with the help of her mom and sisters, who couldn’t hold back their tears and who could blame them. Kate looked absolutely STUNNING! SO stunning that during the ceremony, a mom and 3 little kids walked into the church to take a peak and the little girl gasped and quietly said “I see her, there’s the princess!” Who could blame Jimmy for tearing up at the sight of her as she walked down the aisle on her dad’s arm… she was stunning!
Speaking of the ceremony… I have photographed a few weddings at the beautiful St. Catherine church in Spring Lake but I have NEVER seen that church as packed as it was for Kate & Jimmy’s wedding! I walked in and was absolutely stunned! It was so crowded, people were STANDING in the back of the church – and this is a large church! That is a testament to how loved and adored they are by everyone who knows them. Almost 300 guests waved streamers and bells as they left the church as husband and wife and the bagpiper played in celebration for them – I actually said “WOW” while photographing the moment, it was so beautiful!
We took their portraits across Spring Lake with their church in the background and it was so gorgeous. It had been cloudy all morning but suddenly, the sun came out and brightened up their portraits. We made our way to the boardwalk for some quick portraits of just the two of them and then left them to enjoy their fabulous cocktail hour with their guests. Their reception space was absolutely stunning! All the florals and candles lit all over the room made the room feel so warm and inviting. Guests stood around under the tent as Kate & Jimmy shared their first dance and parent dances and completely set the tone for an INCREDIBLE night full of singing and dancing! So many sing alongs, SO much dancing – their band was amazing! Something about a live band at weddings always elevates the evening! And what made the evening even more special was the beautiful toasts made by Kate’s dad, sisters and Jimmy’s brother. Everyone spoke from the heart and grabbed the attention of every guest in the room – that’s NOT easy to do with a packed reception space. I left their reception with the biggest smile on my face, I was so sad the day went so quickly and I had to leave! lol But I am so excited for the future that awaits these two. They are an incredible couple and amazing things lie ahead for them! Kate & Jimmy, congratulations on such an incredible day!! I wish you nothing but endless love and laughter and dancing through life!! 🙂
