I arrived at the hotel on a PERFECT June day to makeup getting done, music playing and lots of smiles! Everyone was in the BEST mood ever and why shouldn’t they be? Casey was getting married! A few floors up, Peter was gifting his groomsmen some fancy whiskey glasses and they were all toasting the husband-to-be! From the minute I arrived, it seemed like time just flew by!
If there’s one thing you should know about these two, it is that their families mean so much to them. Casey had both her stepfather and her father walk down the aisle – but not before tearing up and telling her mama she loved her outside the church. Ugh, that pulled at MY mama heart strings lol. Her sister held her train for her as we entered the church and that same sister stood at the alter watching her little sister walk down the aisle towards her husband with tears in her eyes. And Peter. The BIGGEST smile was on his face as he saw Casey walk towards him. His mom and
From the minute the ceremony was over, the party was on!! They walked out of their gorgeous church into a receiving line… and at the end of it was a family member playing the accordion! Casey & Peter honored their Croatian heritage by having him play music and their families started singing along with him. By the time it was time for them to make their exit from the church, they ended up dancing at the end of steps to the music!
We headed to their venue for portraits and I just LOVE shooting at Stone house at Stirling Ridge! It has so many amazing spots for photos, we kept switching it up with each set of photos and each spot was more gorgeous than the last! Their reception was held inside the lodge at Stone house – the newest addition to the venue. I hadn’t at the Lodge before but I’m in love with it now! It was a grand ballroom, but still intimate. It was modern yet rustic. It was PERFECT for them!
They slow danced to their first dance song “Speechless” by Dan & Shay (which I listened to on repeat as I put together this blog post! lol) and ended it with a confetti canon going off – now THAT’S how you kick off the night! Guys, I’ve written 4 paragraphs about their wedding day already and I haven’t even gotten to the reception! In a nutshell – there were almost 45 minutes of Croatian dancing, 3 sweet and hilarious toasts, and a couple who kissed surrounded by sparklers – AND got to play the drums for their guests! Enjoy this beautiful new wedding and be sure to leave some love for Casey &
