If you scroll back a few posts you’ll see the first engagement session I ever shot at Hacklebarney State Park. These sessions were only ONE month apart and they look worlds different! The foliage completely popped at the end of October and when we arrived to the park the first weekend of November for Alyssa & Nick’s engagement session, I was so happy at how beautiful all the foliage and trees looked I was giddy! The thing I wasn’t prepared for? The INSANE fall crowds at the park! I don’t think any of us were prepared for how PACKED it would be but it was a gorgeous November day, the perfect day to go hiking through a state park so I can’t blame them. But it was also perfect weather for an engagement session in November and we were just going to deal with it! 🙂 I’m happy to say it was worth dealing with! I’m just in love with Alyssa & Nick’s photos 🙂
Alyssa & Nick showed up a little nervous for their photos (honestly, most of my couples show up this way!) and with the crowds, it made them even MORE nervous but they absolutely killed it! When you just focus on each other and the reason why you’re doing these photos in the first place, it makes it a little more easier to deal with and you can actually enjoy the time! 😉 They did just that! You know what else helps? A complete distraction and their dog, Bugsy, was the PERFECT distraction! I love when dogs come along for engagement sessions because there always seems to be more pressure on me to get the DOG to smile at my camera than my couples lol and once I get the dog to look, I feel like the session is an automatic win. Well lucky for me, Bugsy was a total ham and he helped make his humans look like PROS in front of the camera! 🙂 Seriously – just look at his face when Alyssa & Nick are kissing his cheeks. He is LOVING the attention! lol
Receiving the initial email from Alyssa & Nick was SO exciting and meeting them was even better! We immediately bonded over our love of Fixer Upper, dogs (of course!) and hearing all about their wedding plans was so exciting! I can’t wait for their wedding day and just know it is going to be a BLAST! 🙂 But right now it’s time to enjoy their gorgeous engagement session with so many lovely elements! All the orange and yellow leaves surrounding them, their fantastic sense of style and their adorable dog, Bugsy – what’s not to love about their session?? Hope you enjoy my favorite images from Alyssa & Nick’s engagement session!!
