Every time the opportunity comes, I am convinced more and more that New York City engagement sessions are my absolute favorite. I LOVE New York City and everything about it. The chaos, the non stop, the restaurants and shops you can’t find anywhere else… I want to be a part of it! And luckily, for a few hours, my couples let me be 🙂 Scott and Jenna knew when they booked me EXACTLY where their session would be and it just had to be right in Manhattan. Not just Manhattan but two of their absolute favorite spots in Manhattan. The first would be right where Scott proposed to Jenna.. in Madison square park! He proposed earlier this year right on a park bench and of course she said YES! Scott loves this part of the city and with the Flatiron building looking over them, it was even more perfect. Not only is that Scott’s absoute favorite building in all of the city but geographically – it is in the EXACT center of Manhattan! So why not get engaged right in the center of the hustle and bustle? LOVE that.
For the second location, it was a no brainer for them. We would head to their favorite dinner spot in all of Manhattan, Morandi! This is where they’ve shared so many date nights, drinks with friends and family, celebrations… it was PERFECT! They ordered some rose champagne and captured them in the essence of their favorite place and it was SO special 🙂 After a few sips of bubbly (I mean, are they my couple or what!?) we walked around the charming West Village for some more portraits. This is classic New York. Where chain restaurants and shops haven’t taken over and the charm of old world New York still exists in the brownstones and cobblestone streets. The best backdrop there is. Put in an adorable couple like these two, who simply just LOOK at each other and make the magic happen, and it’s the recipe for the perfect New York engagement session.
Besides it being in the middle of the city, these two are just so perfect for each other. It’s obvious in their photos, they have a special spark. I BARELY told them what to do because they are so smitten with each other and can’t help but giggle when they lock eyes, steal kisses in between the clicks of my camera and walk hand in hand. These two are just my favorite 🙂 I also loved that Scott wasn’t nervous at ALL for these photos. Believe me, it’s rare to find a Groom that is actually excited about engagement photos. You can see in some of the photos he’s always in the mood for some fun 😉 What makes them even cooler is they have the best wedding date EVER! They will be getting married next on the same day Jose & I were married on! WHOO! What a party that is going to be!
