Oh gosh… I am absolutely in LOVE with Cristin & Ryan’s wedding day! The gorgeous vibrant colors, the amazing family and friends that surrounded them with love and made US feel like we were old friends, the BEST couple ever! Plus the amazing vendors that came together to make this wedding day so beautiful and memorable. Where do I even begin? From the moment I met Cristin & Ryan I knew they were my couple. Does that sound crazy? I don’t know, maybe it does, but my gut feeling is always right and I just knew I was going to be picked as the lucky girl to photograph their wedding day. Maybe it’s also because after talking with them, I just fell in love with them! Cristin had a clear vision from day one of what she wanted and Ryan was just the sweetest and let her plan the day of her dreams. He was just up for doing whatever she wanted and whatever made her happen. Cristin, you’re a lucky girl! Plus, these two are just as obsessed with friends as Jose and I are. I mean, their wedding hashtag was #theonewiththewallacewedding. And her sisters, and maids of honor, ended their speech quoting Phoebe Buffay and saying about their sister and Ryan – “he’s her lobster!” Were we not meant to photograph this wedding day or what!? Plus, her family is just the sweetest. While I was photographing Cristin in her childhood bedroom, having her mom and sister helping her get dressed just made it so much more special. Even their family dog, Bailey, was so excited! I’m shocked we grabbed a photo of her sitting still! lol I photographed Cristin at the dresser her grandmother sat at on her own wedding day, as well as her mom and now her. Wow. Nothing gets me more then tradition. And when I thought I’d actually keep it together for one wedding, her dad walked into the bedroom and saw his oldest daughter dressed in her wedding dress. He hugged her and gifted her a gorgeous bouquet of salmon colored roses. Why salmon? Because the day she was born, that’s exactly what he gifted her mother! Gaaahh… here come the tears again! So many wonderful traditions like that carried these two on their wedding day.
Cristin had a clear vision for her wedding day and she pulled it together perfectly. Can you believe EVERY paper product in their wedding day, from their invitations to the stunning seating chart, were all designed by Cristin herself?? Wow! Even their adorable favors of bottled wine were made by Cristin and Ryan – and had their lovely engagement photos on the label! (Their engagement session was at a winery so that was just the perfect favor!) Thanks to you both for letting us take home a bottle! It’s so cute, I don’t have the heart to even open it! lol Also, I am LOVING this trend of Bridesmaids wearing different colored dresses! I can’t even tell you how GORGEOUS these dresses look together – in the pretty shades of pink and berry. Plus the stunning jeweled belts. LOVED that! We’ve been shooting at some amazing venues this year and The Palace at Somerset Park is no exception. A stunning venue – I can’t even tell you what it was like to walk into their ballroom. Just breathtaking! And oh my gosh – their 5 tiered wedding cake with the cascading berry and pink flowers on it. ALL the heart eyes!! It’s SO hard to put together a wedding day piece and piece and without seeing it all together, just pray it looks as good as it did in your head. I’m so happy it was EVERYTHING Cristin and Ryan imagined it would all be and more! As Cristin got dressed and suddenly the realization that it was the last step and all that was left to do was head to the church to marry Ryan… the nerves came FAST. She was suddenly SO anxious and nervous. But the smile on their faces as they finally saw each other in their gorgeous church was worth the wait. They were so incredibly happy! The ceremony FLEW by (it was a mass and it still flew by!) and just like that, their guests were blowing bubbles and they were walking out of the church hand in hand as HUSBAND and WIFE. Ahhh!
As we pulled up to Colonial Park for their portraits, a dark cloud rolled in and it was obvious we were about to get rained on. I put a timer on for 20 minutes and ROLLED through their portraits at the park and they were the best! Nothing but smiles on, every so often glancing behind them at the dark cloud getting closer and closer, but they didn’t care! We finished at the park and the second we pulled up to their venue… it didn’t just rain, it POURED. But if this brutally hot summer taught me anything, it was that this was a break for the humidity and this rain was going to pass. It was actually a blessing in disguise! While it rained outside, inside Cristin & Ryan got to relax and eat with their Bridal Party and parents! If we had waited, they would have probably been STARVING and dying for pictures to be over with! Plus, we never would have had the GORGEOUS glow in their portraits on the patio at the gorgeous Palace at Somerset Park. Everything that Cristin had envisioned was coming to fruition! And when it couldn’t be any more perfect… when I thought I wrapped up their portraits, I stepped outside to take a photo of their venue. When I turned around and saw a HUGE gorgeous rainbow, I turned around and RAN inside to grab them! I knew they were sitting down, just the two of them, to enjoy eating a bit before cocktail hour but I also knew if they heard there was a rainbow present on their wedding day and I did NOTHING to take a photo of them with it, they’d curse me forever. Guys – it was SO worth it!! Those are not only some of my favorite photos of them, they’re some of my favorite photos EVER. Okay enough talking – on to the beautiful photos!
Cristin & Ryan – congratulations on such a gorgeous and fun wedding day!! Thank you so much for letting us be a part of the excitement!! We wish you both nothing but the BEST! 🙂 Enjoy our favorite photos from their day.
