It’s official – this was the HOTTEST wedding day we’ve ever experienced. Meredith and I nervously texted each other a few days before the wedding… was it REALLY going to be 97 degrees on Philip and hers wedding day?? Oh yes it was, except it was going to feel like 103! We FLEW through all of their portraits because I just felt so bad for not only Phil but his groomsmen in their suits! And yet… everyone looked absolutely gorgeous! Everyone was in the BEST spirits all day, never complaining about how hot it was. Best Bridal Party ever! And Meredith & Phil? They looked flawless all night long and never wanted to stop taking photos. Even when we pulled them out for sunset photos, they wanted me to pull them out AGAIN for when it got a little darker 🙂 There is NO such thing as too many portraits of the Bride & Groom so I just loved them for this! It was totally worth it too, just wait and see!
I’ve been looking forward to Meredith & Phil’s wedding day since I heard they contacted me right after their engagement! I’ll never forget sitting with them in Starbucks for what felt like hours just hearing all about their wedding plans, their proposal at Yankee Stadium, seeing the photos of Meredith’s wedding dress (she grabbed it at a massive sample sale!) and their adorable dog, Stumpy (who was in the best mood EVER the morning of his parents’ wedding day! SO many people to play with! lol). I also loved hearing them tell me all about their wedding venue. I’ve never shot at Olde Mill Inn but they painted a beautiful picture and I’m so glad their wedding day was as amazing as they had hoped it’d be! When they entered their reception room, the ROAR that came out of their guests was so energizing! Everyone felt nothing but excitement and joy for them and that’s always the best energy to have surround you on your wedding day 🙂 They literally did not stop dancing and greeting their guests the whole day long!
Of course, it’s the little moments that I’ll always remember from their wedding day. Like Meredith & her bridesmaids hanging out in the living room with me while I photographed all her details. Usually I’m all alone for the beginning of the day so it was so nice to have some company! And Meredith’s bridesmaids were not only the sweetest but hilarious too! (I’m biased though, two of my past Brides were in her bridal party! lol What can I say? My couples are awesome!) I’m always remember the moment when Meredith’s dad saw her for the first time. She was bracing herself for the weeks leading up to it because she knew he’d cry and what do you know? Meredith suddenly became overwhelmed with emotion when her dad walked in and the tears burst out of her eyes! She loves her dad so much 🙂 Later in the evening as they glanced around their reception room before their guests came in and the band practiced the song she’d dance to with her dad, Meredith instantly cried again! So many emotions on a wedding day – I love it 🙂 Of course – Phil’s reaction as Meredith walked down the aisle was a great one. I focused on him right before she walked down the aisle and I could tell she had entered the room when his eyes suddenly lit up – I saw them light up! He smiled, took a deep breath and just stared at her in amazement. She was a bridal beauty! Oh and the adorable ring boys holding up the sign “Don’t worry ladies – we’re still single” as they walked down the aisle, priceless!
By the end of the night when it was time for us to leave, we all realized it was over and just kept giving each other the biggest hugs! I love these two and am just so happy it was not only a wonderful day, but such a FUN day for them too! Nothing but laughter all day long, the way every marriage should start off 🙂 I know that will continue for Meredith & Phil in the many years to come. Enjoy my many favorite images from their beautiful wedding day! 🙂
