You guys are about to MELT from these photos! There are so many things I LOVED about Erin & Ron’s session. One is their adorable dog Hannah who I’ll talk about more in the next paragraph (come on. You know I can go on and on about dogs! Love them!) The other is their locations! We split their photos between two spots – one was the gorgeous Leonard J. Buck Garden that SO is not just a garden. It’s a quiet little park with tall trees, cute bridges and so much open space! You could get lost here but we made sure to hit up the great spots while we were there 🙂 And our time there went so fast! Almost immediately I grabbed great shots of these two 🙂 Than we made our way to Ron’s firehouse a few minutes away. What a FIREHOUSE! So large and open! We made use of all that open space and got to shoot them on not one truck but TWO! The pop of red is so gorgeous in these photos. I must admit I LOVE the shots we grabbed at Ron’s firehouse. I could shoot these two in front of fire trucks all day, I just loved it! But my third favorite thing about this session?? This might seem really silly to some people – but Erin’s gorgeous eyes!! She has beautiful, piercing blue eyes that I immediately noticed and just kept focusing in on. In photography, the eyes are everything. It’s what I focus in on when capturing my couples so I’m always looking at them and Erin’s were just so pretty! Ron is a lucky guy to be able to look into those beauties every day and tell her he loves her 🙂
The one thing I never want my clients to feel during an engagement session is uncomfortable or awkward. That is just NOT going to happen! ESPECIALLY when they tell me up front that’s how they always feel when taking photos! I actually relate to that feeling… I ALWAYS look awful in photos! lol But I know there are certain things that can get out a true, natural smile on my face and if I’m like that, everyone else is like that. For Erin & Ron that true smile came out with two things – anytime Ron kissed Erin (cue the awws!) and their adorable dog, Hannah! Hannah is a SPITFIRE of a dog! She is so quiet and sweet at first but she quickly shows you.. she is full of spunk. It was funny. The minute I saw her she came up to me, quietly sniffed me and looked so calm as she walked around trying to figure out what she was. I cooed at her saying “she’s such a sweetie!” and Erin warned me, “she is not! If you think that, she has got you fooled!” and than Hannah made the switch – SUPER high energy, loves to pull you on her leash (yes, she will walk YOU!) and does NOT play around when it comes to her treats. But her presence during their engagement session immediately brought out a different side to Ron & Erin. Sure they might have been nervous thinking if they could even get Hannah to sit but it’s amazing how suddenly dogs start to cooperate for professional photos! It’s like they know! lol And sure enough, we got some AMAZING shots of this little ball of energy! And I’m about to blow your mind the way Erin blew mine… Hannah is 14!! Isn’t that amazing?? 14 and still a cutie & full of so much energy!
It’s funny though… my favorite images from all of Erin & Ron’s session are the very last ones we took! It’s a mixture of things I love. The LIGHT and foliage that is surrounding them is just the perfect backdrop but what it really is I love is them. They were at that point SUPER comfortable and warmed up, they didn’t mind taking a few by the really vibrant trees right by the firehouse 🙂 We wrapped them up in the blanket them came in and from there, I just captured them being asbolutely ADORABLE together. I loved getting to spend the afternoon with Erin & Ron and of course, can not wait for their wedding day next November!! Almost a year away!! 🙂 Erin & Ron, thanks so much for letting me capture you both and adorable little Hannah. I hope you had a great time during your session, love these photos and get excited for your wedding day next year!! Enjoy my favorites from their engagement session 🙂
