Alexandra & Anthony [Fiddlers Elbow Bedminster, NJ Wedding Photographer]

I know what it was that makes Alexandra & Anthony’s wedding day not only a day that we will never forget but two people we will forever cherish. Their love is truly remarkable. The pure JOY that radiated off of them the entire time was unbelievable. The excitement right before their first look was contagious. As I stood in the halls of the entryway of Fiddlers Elbow with Alexandra and checked to make sure Anthony was in place outside, I turned around and saw her standing there breathing heavy with her hand to her chest. She smiled to me and said, “my heart is beating so fast. Feel it!” and immediately grabbed my hand to feel. You guys, I FELT it. I could feel MY heart instantly start to race with hers but I said, “It’s okay. It’s all about to be so amazing.” She took one last breath and we walked outside. Finally – Anthony was in view for her. You never really know what to expect when a Bride and Groom see each other for the first time on their wedding day. Will there be tears or not? Will there just be lots of giggles and laughing, in disbelief that this day has finally come?? For Anthony and Alexandra, it was both. It could not have been more enjoyable to photograph. It was one of the first times Jose and I were so taken aback by the couple in front of us, we didn’t say ONE word for what felt like 5 minutes. Usually couples will have their first look than feel ready to go for portraits! But these two were in their own world. It was amazing to watch. I am NOT lying when I saw the first 12 of their portraits were not at ALL posed in any way by me. It was all them! It was all us capturing the moment in it’s truest form and WOW was it amazing. And it was so fun to see how AMAZED they were at the fact that they just got married! Right after their ceremony after they had some time alone, I caught Anthony looking and fidgeting at his ring and I asked “How does it feel??” and he said “It feels AMAZING!!”. My heart melted. That might be one of my favorite moments of the entire day, right there. PURE JOY.

Jose and I truly feel blessed to work with some amazing clients that never truly feel like clients but more like friends. This could not be truer of not only Alexandra and Anthony but their entire families and bridal party. From the minute we arrived, we felt like we were home. We made our way to the guys first and almost immediately were greeted by cheers! I was behind the coordinator of the venue as she peeked in to see if the guys were decent and I heard Anthony say “Oh! Are the photographers here?” and I poked my head in the doorway behind her. And then “HEEEEEEYYY!!!!” And as I left Jose to start grabbing photos of the guys I heard Anthony say to one of his groomsmen “Jose is the BEST!” and it made me so happy! Nothing makes us happier than to hear that our couple is actually EXCITED to see us, before we’ve done a THING! It melted my heart. And when I saw Alexandra for the first time, we wrapped each other in the biggest bear hug. Than I met her mom and it was the same! I mean… Jose and I each got separate name chants from this bridal party. These girls actually brought me to TEARS. We as photographers are brought in to serve our clients and make their wedding day as memorable and awesome as humanly possible but these two just PRAISED us. I mean… what else could you want in a couple!? My favorite thing about Alexandra and Anthony is they NEVER got tired of taking photos on their wedding day. I NEVER felt like I was bothering them. They were SO happy and on a high the entire day long, anytime I saw an opportunity for an amazing photo – they just did it! And because of that joy they had on their wedding day, they have SO many great photos of the two of them from their first look all the way through their reception!

Alexandra told me right before she slipped into her wedding day that the entire process of planning her wedding and getting ready has felt so easy because she had hired some of her most cherished friends to take care of the day for her. The AMAZING Jacquelyn of EVJ Wedding Co. not only put together a BREATHTAKINGLY beautiful reception and venue room but constantly had the flow of the day go smooth! I am SO thankful for her, she was amazing!! And Alexandra’s other friend, Ashley Branda, did both her hair and makeup that had her looking STUNNING from the beginning of the day until the end. Seriously!! And as she was telling me that, Alexandra grabbed my hand and said “You feel like a friend to me too” and because of such a great team she put together, everything was so much more enjoyable for her and Anthony. THAT is all I want to hear from my couples! I mean.. it was raining as they did their bubble exit out of their ceremony and they were still smiling! It was POURING like a monsoon right as we were going to take bridal party portraits… but we STILL got it done! No one EVER complained or let anything get them down because why should they!? Regardless of rain, it was the most PERFECT day. I did totally confess to Anthony and Alexandra that while I was overjoyed for them, I was a little heartbroken that I wouldn’t be hearing from them as often anymore. But then I realized that wasn’t the case. We LOVE these two and they are now more than clients. In fact, I think it’s safe to say that this whole time they never felt like clients. They ALWAYS felt like friends and we were just the luckiest photographers to be there capturing all this beauty and emotion. Not only will they cherish these photos for years to come but I will too! I will FOREVER love this wedding day… DESPITE the fact that while taking their portraits, a SNAKE crawled across my foot and I had a near panic attack and RAN so fast out of that grass 😉 It was the worst moment of the day for me lol and if that’s as bad as it gets, I’ll take it!

Alexandra & Anthony, we told you once and we’ll say it again. We love you both so much and are so happy for you guys!! We KNOW you will have an amazing marriage and we can’t wait to see all you will accomplish together! We hope you are having an AMAZING honeymoon and can’t wait to hear all about it at our wine/cheese date!!
