As I was editing Juliane & Brendan’s engagement session – my mind was racing with all the great things I could talk about in their blog post! How much I love New York City and all it’s hidden gems… how adorable and photogenic their dog, Arlo is… how adorable and photogenic THEY are! Juliane & Brendan are serious pros at taking photos. If they happened to have any nerves about this session, it was not obvious to me. They eased into their session so easily, and that’s hard considering we started at 8:30am! Why so early?? Well, if you want photos in NYC that’s probably you’re best bet. And don’t let that fool you. At 8:30am Central Park (where we started their session) was FULL of people and their dogs. But luckily Juliane & Brendan knew all the hidden spots in the park – the spots that the crowds wouldn’t be hanging around and for almost an hour it felt like we had most of the park to ourselves. We got them in trees, nears castles, walking around the Ramble (which I imagine would be just like the Dark Forrest from Harry Potter at night! You could get lost there!) and the Shakespeare rose garden. Doesn’t that all sound like a fairy tale?? They were all the perfect backdrops for this incredible couple 🙂

We even got to parts of the city I’ve NEVER been too! Not only have I never been to the Shakespeare Garden, Riverside Park or Belvedere Castle, but even the infamous Bow Bridge! And during our walk around the park we happened to stumble upon it… and almost 40 Italian tourists!! It was NUTS and I quickly shot pictures of Juliane & Brendan on the Bow Bridge while Italian tourists Awww’ed at them and even took pictures of them too! I must admit those are some of my favorites from their session 🙂 My other favorites? ANY with their adorable dog, Arlo, in it! He is like a giant teddy bear! Not only does he look like one but he also is the sweetest 🙂 Jose tagged along for their session to accompany Arlo around Riverside Park when we wanted a few photos without them and they bonded! By the end of the session, Arlo knew exactly who to go to for water lol. But he is SO photogenic too! He loved being in front of the camera, especially with his mama and papa 🙂

Juliane & Brendan were SO MUCH fun to be with this early morning. They had the best attitude about their session, completely giggling and laughing with each other the whole time – goofing off with each other and even doing a little swing dancing! That’s right, swing dancing! Brendan and Juliane met in college where Brendan not only played football but did some swing dancing! So it’s no wonder he loves to pick Juliane up and toss her around – which must be SO fun for her and was really so much for me to photograph 😉 They are so smiley and giggly together – I can’t even IMAGINE how easy it will be to photograph them when they’re 10x happier on their wedding day! There are just SO many favorites from their engagement session, it took me so long to narrow it down to just a few to share here 🙂 I know you will LOVE them as much as I do! Juliane and Brendan, thanks for the best morning in NYC! (Also, you were so right about Levain!!) We hope you LOVE your photos and can’t wait for your wedding day next June!!
