There is SO much I loved about Cassie & Nick’s wedding day, I don’t even know where to start. First of all… arriving to the girls location and hearing Cassie say to put on ABC family because Harry Potter weekend was about to start. Um, what a way to get in the mood to get married! My kind of bride (let me know if you spot the Harry Potter shout-out in her details!) Cassie & Nick put so much thought and love into their wedding, showcasing not only all the things they love but their talent and creativity. Nick hand-drew ALL the chalkboard signs throughout the wedding. ALL of them! From the Ceremony program chalkboard (so genius! Instead of printing a million programs, simply put it on a chalkboard or sign!) to the Guestbook… even the table numbers! I LOVED the colors of their wedding that tied together so perfectly, from the invitations to all the beautiful florals the girls carried around and you saw on the reception tables. Dusty Shale is the absolutely prettiest color (sort of minty, yes?) and it just looked beautiful on every single one of Cassie’s bridesmaids, who were the absolute sweetest, including their ADORABLE flower girl. Seriously… anytime she’s in a photo below, she steals the show. SO cute! I loved hanging out with them all that morning but have to admit, was so anxious for Cassie & Nick’s first look.
That’s another thing I loved about their day… the first look! I mean, besides the fact that it was beautiful and they both had the cutest reactions to seeing each other… we had so much time for all their portraits. Luckily, it was such a PERFECT day! Don’t kill me lol I know it sounds like I say that about every wedding we shoot (and that’s because they are all perfect!!) but weather-wise… so perfect. Beautiful blue skies, sunny and BREEZY. That is rare for a July wedding. It felt SO good when we were in the shade and made taking portraits a breeze 🙂 Their ceremony took place right as the sun was setting (hence Nick wiping a handkerchief in his face mid-ceremony – that sun was all on him!) and it was just beautiful. Beautiful readings from their sisters and sister-in-law, a few swats at a bee buzzing around them (too funny!) and before we knew it, they were officially husband and wife! Of course that is usually a Bride & Groom’s favorite part of the day… because it’s time to drink, eat and DANCE!! What a party it was, my hands hurt by the end of the night from all the photos we were endlessly taking. Their guests did not disappoint that dance floor. BUT my favorite part of the reception was when Nick’s sister surprised him with a payback to something HE did at her own wedding – the Pee-Wee Herman “Tequila” dance, with Pee-Wee shoes and all! It was a total surprise to Nick and so fun to see him react but once he got those dancing shoes on, they were in character and did it PERFECTLY! lol We loved it!!
More than anything else… I just LOVE these two beautiful people. From the moment we met, I instantly connected with both of them and highly anticipated this wedding day. Not because I knew there’d be beautiful colors and details to photograph. But because I got to spend the day with them. The most fortunate part of this amazing job of mine is connecting with some amazing couples, spending their entire wedding day with them and reliving their happiness over and over again in the photos. And Cassie and Nick… I just LOVE them! I had been hyping up these two for MONTHS to Jose, simply saying every time I talked about any details I would learn “you are going to love them!” I knew Nick and Jose would bond over their love of WWE and pop culture the way me and Cassie bonded over our love of Harry Potter and champagne 🙂 It’s a blast to work with people that have the same interests, outside of weddings and wedding photos 😉 I’ve been putting together this blog post with the biggest smile on my face because it was just such a fun day and I’m SO happy to share my favorite images from their wedding day.
Cassie & Nick, Jose and I love you both and thank you SO much for letting us being a part of your seriously awesome wedding day!!
