Something beautiful happened on Audrey & Matt’s wedding day. Despite the fact that it down-poured ALL. day. long… no one cared! Not even the Bride & Groom. Two weeks before every wedding, I like to meet with my couples at their venue to check it out, get an idea of what the day will look like and of course, plan for rain. It’s the last thing anyone ever wants to do but it’s so good to create a plan so just in case, we don’t have to scramble on the wedding day. Audrey was 100% prepared for rain! We didn’t want it but boy, were we ready for it! She brought umbrellas along for the bridal party, I brought along my yellow hunter boots for her to wear (their wedding colors were grey and yellow so it was PERFECT!) and we knew all the best spots for taking their portraits in the rain.
Can I just tell you that I LOVED this day so much? Even if it was raining, it was a challenge for me to think creatively as a photographer but the fact that NO ONE CARED made it ten times better! Even their amazing bridal party didn’t hesitate to open up the umbrellas and walk down a gravel hill in the rain for the cutest photo ever 🙂 Because of everyone’s positivist and excitement for Audrey & Matt… THAT is what made it an absolutely beautiful wedding day!
Everyone was in the best mood all day long and it was so exciting to be a part of such a wonderful day. Capturing Audrey’s details in the morning was so fun, especially with their sweet dog Rookie watching me 🙂 I think he definitely knew something was up that day! Oh and they are BIG baseball fans (Yankee fans to be specific) so there were SO many fun baseball details scattered throughout the day, from their adorable cake toppers to Matt’s wedding band. Seriously, THE coolest wedding band ever! But their reception… WOW! What a PARTY! I was warned by Audrey & Matt that it was going to be rowdy and fun and TONS of dancing and their guests did not disappoint! We got some amazing dancing shots at this wedding and had a blast capturing it (um… especially the canon of confetti launching! WHAT!? Saved that for the LAST photo you see in this blog post, to end it on an epic note!) It was such a fun wedding day and when Jose and I left for the night, I felt SO good about what we had captured. I’m thrilled to be sharing my be sharing my favorite images from their wonderful wedding day today 🙂
Audrey & Matt, Jose and I are SO thankful and honored to have been apart of your beautiful wedding day! Hope you are having the best time on your honeymoon and enjoy your photos 🙂
