The morning of Christine & Stu’s engagement session was not only FREEZING cold for November AND the first day of Daylight Savings’ but it was also the New York City Marathon! There seemed to be several obstacles in our way, not just for them but for me. This was going to be my first time in a very long time shooting a couple completely bundled up and cold. It’s funny though how quickly that all goes away, especially when we are with such a fun couple like Christine & Stu. The minute Jose and I saw them it was lots of screaming and big hugs all around. We actually had our first meeting through FaceTime and hadn’t even met until their Engagement Session so we were just SO excited to meet each other on top of the excitement of taking their pictures! The minute we started, any and all of my concerns about the day IMMEDIATELY just washed away! They took off their jackets like champs and we were all just laughing and enjoying ourselves the entire time. I think it’s pretty obvious in these photos how good of a time Christine and Stu had! We started their session in their adorable neighborhood of Tudor City in Manhattan. This neighborhood is a gem! It was so quiet and not crowded, it didn’t even feel like we were in Manhattan at some points of their shoot! We had the streets and parks all to ourselves. And wait until you see their AMAZING view straight down 42nd street! I could have shot there all day. We than made our way into the hustle and bustle of the city… actually we headed right for the crazy and shot some photos inside Grand Central Station and even the market! It was SO fun! I love these photos so much because the love they have for their city shows in them 🙂 Our session ended at the fabulous PJ Clarke’s – a bar and pub that is very special to not only them but Stu’s family as well! It was a place his grandfather visited for dinner every night while he studied for a year in NYC to be a surgeon, while the rest of his family was home in Ohio. Since moving to New York himself and being very close with his grandfather, Stu continued his grandfather’s tradition and now him and Christine both visit it every friday for early drinks before their night out begins. I just LOVE that! I’m a big fan of traditions and love that we got to shoot at a location that means so much to them. After their session we grabbed some drinks with them and I can vouch and say you MUST go to PJ Clarke’s when you visit New York! It’s now a favorite of mine 🙂 Or maybe we just had great company! This session is one of my favorites of the year… Stu and Christine, I can’t say it enough. Jose and I had a BLAST with you both and we are SO excited you are our very first wedding in 2015! We can’t wait to begin our year with your beautiful wedding. We just know it’s going to be amazing. Enjoy this beautiful session!! 🙂
