It’s been a while since I’ve done a “weekly” intermission… Not going to lie, it’s hard keeping up with it! But I’m going to try so here we go! This week’s Weekly Intermission 🙂

.| FEELING… |. I was just wrapping up one of my Engagement Sessions last night and I went to my Facebook app when BAM! There it was… Robin Williams dead from apparent suicide. I immediately gasped, stopped walking and just showed my couple the phone in disbelief. We immediately thought THIS IS A HOAX! But unfortunately, it turned out to be true. As I drove home I listened as my favorite talk radio station on SiriousXM, Entertainment Weekly, reported the news and remained talking about Robin Williams my entire one hour drive home. I was SO upset, I felt tears coming up in my eyes anytime someone would call in mentioning ANOTHER great movie of his I had forgotten all about. It wasn’t until people called and called that I remembered how much I really LOVED Robin Williams all these years. In high school I recorded his comedy specials and his interview on The Actors Studio. I LOVED his performance of “Blame Canada” at the Oscars. He was always on and I just loved him. I guess because he was always on it was hard for us, the public, to see he had some real demons. I’ve just been so sad over this news but will do my best I can to make sure he lives on… watching my favorite movie roles of his, rewatching those comedy specials and performances and celebrating the Robin Williams we all knew and loved.

.| WATCHING… |. Of course the minute I heard of Robin Williams passing all I thought of were his amazing movie roles, how much I really LOVED them and just wanted to go home and watch them all. My sister and I grew up literally watching Jumanji and Hook every day. We LOVED Mrs Doubtfire and don’t even get me started on his role as the Genie in Aladdin. Just amazing! As we grew up, we LOVED The Birdcage (and still do! I watch it every time it’s on TV – though Jose LOVES Nathan Lane in it way more than Robin Williams lol). Tonight we are having our Family Movie Night and it’s my turn to pick a movie… and I’m thinking it’s gotta be a Robin Williams movie! I mean, has everyone seen DEATH TO SMOOCHY?? I am one of those people that loves the movies everyone else hates but this one is SO GOOD and underrated!! Hmm got to make my movie pick before tonight!

.| WORKING ON… |. I’ve always made sure to put my clients first before everything but I’ve been lucky enough to also second shoot some lovely, beautiful weddings with some of my wonderful photographer friends – and I haven’t blogged ONE of them! Wow. I am working on sharing those weddings now throughout the end of the year because they were all so beautiful and it’s always so great to spend their wedding days with them. I really do love second shooting. It’s a nice break from having ALL that pressure on me and it’s nice to shoot for someone else, without worrying about going crazy culling and editing all the photos and just doing it to my favorites 🙂 Look out for some of those on the blog soon!

.| LOVING… |. Our Disney Vacation is in 30 Days (YESS!) but my favorite part about these vacations is always the PLANNING that goes into them. What I really LOVE about Disney Vacations is just how easy they make it for you! Of course our hotel and flights are booked… but so is our dining plan, our fast pass selections are made for all our favorite rides every day we are at the parks, I just did our online check in AND told them we are celebrating Jose’s birthday while we are there (we will be there 5 days after we celebrate his actual birthday so why not!?) Poor Jose just gets SO tired and annoyed at me constantly talking excitedly about all the dining reservations I made or what’s happening at the parks while we are there but oh well. He knew what he married into 😉

.| LISTENING TO… |. You guys, this song right here is just TOO hot – OneRepublic’s “LOVE RUNS OUT”. From the minute I caught the end of the video (does anyone still watch videos??) I loved it. Then I played it for Jose and saw just how much he loved it too. I loved it even more when the DJ played it at a recent wedding after someone requested it (and he had NO IDEA what song it was and I told him it was the hotness and he better play it. Really DJ??) Needless to say I was right and that dance floor was bumping when this song came on! And you KNOW Jose and I blasted it on our drive home from the wedding! Just can’t stop listening to it! If you haven’t heard it yet, be sure to comment and thank me for introducing it to you 🙂 You will LOVE it!

.| LOOKING FORWARD TO… |. THIS WEEKEND! Besides the fact that these two love birds are getting married on Friday and I can. NOT. wait for their wedding day, they are getting married on a FRIDAY!! Friday weddings are just the best! Especially when I’m always smart enough to not book anything the rest of the weekend and we have a full two days to rest our bodies, enjoy our time together and do what we want. Jose only has Saturdays and Sundays off from work and I’m SO thankful he is taking a vacation day to shoot this wedding with me and give us a three day weekend together 🙂
