Let me start this post by saying I am in NO WAY  an expert cook or baker – but I’m much better with baking desserts than I am cooking meals. So when my husband said he wanted to make Rice Krispies for a pot luck at his job, I was all for it. This was ALL his idea and I’m not taking credit for it but this simple little dessert is too easy to make and too good to eat than I had to share it 🙂 It took 5 minutes to prep, 5 minutes to make & 20 excruciating minutes to wait for the Rice Krispies to cool down and bite into but it was well worth it. What’s better than Rice Krispies? Throwing some Froot Loops into the mix! 🙂

It’s simple. Just heat up in a saucepan 3 tablespoons of butter and 2 cups of marshmallows [we used mini marshmallows so it ended up being 4 cups], and mix both of them together until it becomes a smooth texture than add in 4 cups of rice krispie cereal & 2 cups of froot loops – mix it quickly so the marshmallow doesn’t cool down and it all sticks together. Than press it into a pan coated with cooking spray to cool and dry . Let it dry for 20 minutes or until it is cool.

And voila! A yummy snack to enjoy. Once it’s cool, it’s easy to cut into squares or if you want to have fun with it when they are still warm, mix them into little rice krispie balls 🙂 We plan on making this a LOT to enjoy this fall [and winter. lets be honest!] It was so quick and easy and it’s pretty low cal compared to other desserts so we LOVE it 🙂 If you make some of your own or have your own take on this, let me know. We’d love to mix it up.
