We are smack in the middle of Wedding Season and it is about to pick up big time for us! I am loving all the weddings so far & just KNOW the weddings that await us are going to be just as romantic and beautiful! Seriously – the next wedding to hit the blog had me in TEARS! :sniff: But more on that when we blog it. Today’s post is for our clients! On a wedding day – no one is by your side the entire day like your photographer is. We are there the ENTIRE time, right next to you ready to capture your special moments. But during those moments – something will always pop up. As you may guess, this post is all about our Wedding Day Emergency Kit! 🙂

Whether you’re getting ready for your first look or portraits, about to walk down the aisle or smack in the middle of your reception – I’ve seen so many brides and grooms suddenly need… SOMETHING! Now, I decided to carry an in case of emergency bag with me to all weddings. It is filled with all the things I’ve seen brides, grooms, bridesmaids, groomsmen, even us photographers suddenly need! Most time I had what they needed and it felt great to help out! Sometimes I didn’t and made a mental note to bring them next time! So here are just a few things you can count on us to bring along at ALL weddings 🙂 because I am just a freak like that and prefer to always be prepared!

Hairspray and bobby pins! This is a MUST for my brides! Something will ALWAYS happen to the hair… whether it’s too windy, the hairdo is coming undone or the veil is falling out, hair is the only thing that always seems to not cooperate on a wedding day. I keep a TON of bobby pins (some in my hair to easily pull out!) and of course, hairspray to keep things in place.

Mints and floss! At least for us photographers – this is our number one MUST. We are talking, coordinating with the venue and directing people all day long where to stand and how to pose – so we NEED our breath to be nice at all times 🙂 and floss is just a must! If our brides want to sneak out for night time pictures after salad or dinner has been served – this will reassure them their smile is flawless 🙂

Hand sanitizer and shimmering hair and body spray! As you can see… I’m running low on my hand sanitizer! We use this A LOT! For us photographers of course, if we are on the ground or in gravel roads our hands get dirty. We need to keep us and our equipment clean so this is a must. And of course for our brides, sometimes you just need a little refresher like this! I always buy the hand sanitizers from Bath & Body Works because they are great scents and give you a little bit of fragrance to latch on to you as well 🙂 As for the shimmer spray, ya never know! I’ve brides say they randomly wish they had some to spray on them and guess who had it? ME! 🙂

Oil Controlling Towelettes – THESE ARE A MUST! ESPECIALLY now in the summer months! It is HOT! People sweat and get oily and shiny looking in their pictures – this is INSTANTLY refreshing and does not remove makeup! So Brides, Bridesmaids and moms can use it too! This is my number 1 for our grooms though, they always use my towelettes! Those poor men are out there dying in those fancy (heavy) suits so this is essential for them!

And like I said, I keep it on me at all time in my lovely Jo Totes camera bag! 🙂 Some things I also carry that I didn’t photograph… a mirror (the #1 item our brides ask for constantly on a wedding day!), lint brushes for the men, nail files (just in case!) & bandaids. Yup bandaids. In one of the last weddings I shot – THREE people cut themselves and needed bandaids! It’s now a MUST! lol

To our brides – be reassured that your photographers are coming prepared & ready to help make your days go as flawless as possible! 🙂
