Engagement session season is here!! I LOVE engagement sessions so much, even after photographing them for almost 10 years!! It’s SO important for a couple to feel comfortable with me before a wedding day and SO important for my couples to know how I am behind the camera! Luckily, Stephanie & Joey know exactly what to expect with me already! If Stephanie looks familiar, it’s because 3 years ago I photographed her twin sister’s wedding day! I also photographed her sister’s engagement AND maternity photos – and each time, Steph was there by her sister’s side! To hold her bags or the family dog, Simba, in between photos 😉 And for 3 years every time I saw Steph I wondered when she’d be getting engaged! Finally, this past November, Joey and her got engaged after being together for 5 years!! And almost immediately she contacted me to be her wedding photographer! I was BEYOND honored!!
Stephanie & Joey warned me they don’t really take pictures together and I seriously couldn’t believe them when they said that! Look at them – they are a gorgeous couple! I wasn’t worried one bit, I KNEW they’d be amazing in front of the camera and they absolutely were! All you have to do is look into each other’s eyes and a couple is INSTANTLY comfortable! 🙂 They picked the beautiful Sayen Gardens for their engagement session and I have NEVER shot an engagement session at this location so I was so excited to see a new spot for photos and this location did not disappoint! There were endless paths and beautiful spots to stop at for photos. But Steph & Joey were so great for their photos, I swear I could have just photographed them in an open field the whole time and they still would have been beautiful photos! By the end of their session they knew EXACTLY what I was going to say next and were posing themselves!! I LOVE when that happens! 🙂
They brought along two of my favorite props – champagne and their sweet dog, Simba! I’ve photographed Simba 3 times now, since he’s the family dog and he was at Steph’s sister’s engagement session too (and maternity photos!) so it was fun seeing Steph and Joey again and also Simba! lol He is one of my favorites to photograph, he’s SO photogenic! That’s not an easy thing to say about dogs! lol Plus Stephanie is a bartender and these two met while she was bartending so they HAD to bring alcohol to their session and champagne is always the best for that! 😉 I have so many favorites from this session it was SO HARD to pick just a few to share today but I know you’ll love them!! Can’t wait to see you both tie the know next September!!!
