I’m going to tell you two crazy things about me and I’m just going to PRAY you don’t think I’m weird. One – I have a very strange fear of balloons. Yes Balloons. Not really helium balloons but latex balloons… that are unpredictable… and can pop at a moments notice. I am TERRIFIED of those balloons. Now here’s the other crazy thing. I’ve ALWAYS wanted to photograph a couple of mine holding cute latex balloons. I told ya they were crazy! So when I got into Danielle & Ryan’s car to make our way to their spot they picked out for their engagement session and she told me there were three MASSIVE latex balloons in the back with their wedding date on it I had two initial reactions. OH MY GOD, I’M IN A CAR WITH BALLOONS. DO NOT PANIC. and then it turned into… BUT OH MY GOD, I FINALLY GET TO TAKE PHOTOS WITH CUTE BALLOONS IN THEM!! So so weird I know. The best part of this story is everything worked out ten times better than I had hoped it would! They taped the balloons together, the balloons actually COOPERATED quite nicely and it ended up turning out amazing! I can’t even imagine what these photos would look like on a save the date because they are just SO great! And the spot that Danielle & Ryan chose for their engagement session made it even better! What a beautiful view, made even better by the amazing foliage that is happening right now in New Jersey. Oh wow!

Foliage helped paint the perfect setting for Danielle & Ryan’s engagement session, especially since October will be their wedding month next year. These two obviously love fall and it was so fun to capture it surrounding them. Not only that but we walked along the prettiest hiking trails – trails that even George Washington and his men walked across during the Revolutionary War! What a fun fact Ryan shared with us during their session 🙂 It’s going to be so much fun capturing their wedding next year because these two have accomplished so much already in the time they’ve been together and it’s thrilling to think of what else they will do together. Right when we were done with their engagement session and headed back to their townhouse, Danielle asked me one small favor. She wanted a few photos of her and Ryan in front of their beloved townhouse. This townhouse means the world to them… it’s not only their first piece of real estate together (whoo!) but the exact spot where Ryan proposed to Danielle! Literally the day after they closed, he got down in the middle of their future dining room and proposed to Danielle. What a surprise that must have been! I’m a super sap so when Danielle asked for that favor of COURSE I obliged and I’m sure out of all the pictures we took that day, those will probably be their favorites out of them all 🙂 This the place where they decided to become husband and wife. WOW! What a fun memory to have 🙂

These photos will put a permanent smile on your face! Besides the AWESOME balloon photos – their smiles are seriously contagious! Ryan did the BEST job at making Danielle giggle for me and it was so adorable to watch as he did it, Ryan look at his bride to be SO lovingly. Seriously. He was just staring at her with the look of love in his eyes and it was the sweetest thing. Every time I caught him staring, it melted my heart! Sorry to call you out on it on this blog, Ryan, but trust me – that’s a good thing 😉 And major props to Danielle’s friend for making the AWESOME wood plaque of their wedding date! Yes she actually made it herself for less than $15! Tell her she needs to open her own ETSY shop because she has some serious talent! Oh and the date on the balloons? They totally did that themselves too! What Do it Yourself-ers these two are! Danielle & Ryan, I had a blast walking around that gorgeous park with you both and hearing all about your wedding plans while photographing your engagement session! Hope you absolutely LOVE these photos as much as I do and can’t wait for your wedding day next year!! 🙂 Enjoy some of my favorites!
